Silly question

I know it's crazy, but I'm wondering...for sleeve/rny patients, do you set off alarms and whatnot when you're at the airport because of the staples? I'm just crazy, right?

No such thing as a silly question!

No, you will not set off the alarms at the airport!  You are good to go!

Awesome! the only friend I have who knows what I'm doing asked me that the other day and honestly I didn't know how to response. He keeps asking me, "Where do all the staples go???"

I say you never learn if you don't ask questions and there is no silly or stupid questions. I never even thought about the metal detectors but have thought of the fact that the staples are going to always be in there.

I asked that question of my heart Doc after he put in my 3rd metal mesh stent....He told me the same thing about that.....NO! I felt like an idiot but heck, I didn't know....I will now have so much metal in me that I am bound to attract magnets or something!
I say ask what you want about anything in life....It's whether or not you get an answer that matters.

LOL!! I wondered the same thing the first time I traveled by plane! So, no, it's not a silly question......The staples (at least at Weightwise) are titanium.

That is a good question! You might want to ask Dr. B - I have never had to have an MRI, so it has never occurred to me to ask!
