Update on my daughter.

Well the Dr. got the reports from the hyda scan that Laura had yesterday and the results were normal.  She did prescribe her more pain killer, and then told me that if she wasn't any better by Fri. morning to bring her back in.  So I guess we will see what happens.  Laura ate some chicken noodle soup around 2:15 today and so far she has kept it down thank God.  This has been going on for such a long time I can't imagine her being better by Friday, but I am thinking positive thoughts and praying a lot.  Thanks for everyones prayers and concerns.  Lisa

My nephew's hida scan was normal too.  Boo!  We wanted it to be a bad gallbladder cuz that's easy to fix. 

It's terrible to see these kids we love in pain and not know why!  I hate it!!!

I'll keep thinking about your daughter!

Please let me know if they find out what is wrong with your nephew,  maybe it could be a suggestion to our doctor.   Lisa

He called me last night and the doctor told him that maybe his gallbladder was working "too well" and they were going to try a drug therapy next.  The drug he is getting is called WelChol and it's supposed to change the way the body processes bile.

I hope this helps!  Let me know how your daughter is doing.  I'll report the results my nephew gets on this drug.  They did say that if this doesn't work, he'll have a cat scan and some other test he couldn't remember.

I hope they find the cause of it really soon. My daughter was diagnosed with a spastic gall bladder and they don't remove them. She has attacks about 2-3 a month. It all depends on what she eats. Prayers going up for your daughter.

Emily, sorry to hear that your daughter has a spastic gallbladder.  Does she have a problem with dairy products?  Somewhere in the back of my mind I'm thinking that maybe Laura isn't able to process dairy products.  When she was little dairy made her sick,  but she grew out of it.    Lisa

Lisa, Yes madison does not tolerate Dairy products. I give her a dairy digestive supplement (generic lactaid). She does well with that depending on what the dairy product is.

Emily is that something that you can get over the counter or do you need a prescription for it?  I'm thing that maybe we should try some.   Lisa
