For the lap banders

I was wondering what the ultimate factor was in choosing with the lap band or Realize? 

I'm still having problems trying to decide which one I want.  The port on the Realize band is just a smidge smaller than the lap band one.  I am just having such a hard time making the decision, so I thought by asking the question, it might help me make up my mind.  :)

I chose the Realize band simply because my husband has the lap band and I thought lets see how the other one works. I also will be more likely to use the website.  My husband didn't have the option of picking between the two bands when he had his done.

Dr G told me if I didn't pick he would flip a coin to choose, he laughed when I told him I wanted the Realize he asked if we were going to have a competition.

Basically they work the same and it becomes just your preference.  Lapband right now doesn't have a website to track your progress if that is something you would prefer then the Realize would be for you.

I chose the realize band.  If you go to the lap band section and to the Ask Dr. Curry post, you can post your question.  Thats what I did and basically he said what the above poster said.  I wanted a little lower port and the website help.  Yes I do like Dr. Gornichec, but I'm waiting until after my first fill to decide if I love him or not.

A year later I love him !!  I dont really know the difference , i was not offered a certain kind , the realize band is new , but i think they all work the same with the slight differences that were mentioned !!  Good luck
