Please pray for my daughter.

My daughter Laura has been very sick for about 5 weeks now. I got a call from the High School principal yesterday telling me that Laura was down in the hallway and rolling around in pain.  So I went and got her.  She could barely walk to the car, she hurt so bad.  She has the same symptoms that I did when I had my gallbladder attacks.  Extreme pain under her right rib cage with pain that radiates up into her chest and around her back.  These pains along with throwing up about 1 hour after she eats.  She hasn't been able to keep much of anything down for the past 3 weeks.  We were in the ER during the OU-OSU game, and of course they didn't find any thing just gave us lortab and sent us home, we followed up the next day with her primary physician, who sent us for an ultrasound on the gallbladder, those results came back normal.  Today our next step was a Hypascan (spelling) where I guess a small amount of radioactive dye and hormones are injected into the blood stream while watching what the gallbladder is doing. It was very painful for her when the concoction made it's way to the gallbladder.  I'm just praying that the reason she has been so sick is as simple as the gallbladder.  Anyway she has lost about 12 lbs. since she has been sick.  I feel so helpless I don't know what to do to help her.  Please pray that they will find out soon what the problem is.  Mommy doesn't like to see her children suffering.   Lisa

I'm sorry to hear that your daughter is so sick.  Hopefully they will find out whats wrong with her soon and fix her up.  Especially if its something as simple as having her Gallbladder removed.

Lisa, I hate to hear that your daughter is in pain like this...how we hate to see our little ones in pain. I just said a prayer for her and you and will continue to keep u guys on my list. Hugz

Lisa,  I am so sorry for your daughter being in so much pain.. Sounds exactly what my husband went through over a month ago.. All other tests came back normal until they did the Hidascan (sp?)  so hopefully, your daughter will be in the same.. The pain was unbearable to watch.  I was watching an grown man come completely to his knees screaming in pain.. So I pray this is what the problem is and they fix her right up..

Thank you Sheila, it does sound like the same thing that your husband went through.  I myself had to have my gallbladder removed after several attacks and the pain was unbearable(childbirth is easier).  I can't stand seeing my daughter in that much pain, when there is nothing I can do to stop it.   Thanks for the prayer and concern.  Lisa

This is EXACTLY what is happening to my nephew.  (Happycat's son)  He had the HIDA scan this morning and we're awaiting results.  He, too, has lost over 10 pounds and is almost contant pain.  Keep me posted on your daughter.  Maybe the 2 of them have the same problem?  It sounds like the same.

I'll include your daughter in my prayers tonight for my nephew.

Hi Kim, Laura is 17, and that seems young but I hear that it is becoming more common, also while we were in the waiting room waiting for her to have her hidascan the girl that came out before Laura went in had just had one and she probably wasn't older than 16 or 17 herself.  I guess it's just not something for us older folks anymore.  Hope fully they Dr's will have results for Laura and your nephew today.  Thanks for including her in your prayers.  Lisa
