I am a week out of surgery.  I will be moving to Edmond OK on January 23.  I wanted to know of support groups that meet in or around that area.  If anyone has any input it would be greatly appricated seeing how I know nothing in that area.  Is there a surgeon that anyone would recommend?  Thanks you for your advice.

Oklahoma will love to have ya!!!!  And welcome to the OKlahoma boards! I look forward to knowing you more and following your journey. There is Weight Wise support group and I think Integris has one, I am sure the Ok City folks will be able to help you out there as I go to the Tulsa ones.

Congrats on your surgery and making a decision of a life time!

Besides OWLO which is out of Norman, WeightWise of Edmond has support groups weekly.  You can access their information at www.weightwise.com.  There are meet & greets and walking groups that we have functioning via this web forum as well.  Stay tuned to our little forum and you will be well versed on our happenings!!

Welcome to Oklahoma!  One of our walking groups is in Midwest City - home of Tinker - so if you are military and planning on being near the base, this would be awesome.  I live in Midwest City as well as several others, so just ask!!

You are moving to an area that has one of the best support group anywhere!  We now meet every Thursday night from 6-8PM and WeightWise in Edmond.  Many of us on these boards had surgery there and our support groups are open to anyone who wants to come.

My email address is [email protected] .  You will find a friend in me so email me and we can be buddies!  I had the sleeve on 5/28//08 so I'm just a little over 6 weeks out.  It has been such a great experience.

Our group also meets for dinner once a month and just for fun!  We really enjoy each other's company and I'm sure you'll like the group too.

Please email if you have any questions or need support.  I have lived in Edmond almost 15 years but I've always been an Oklahoma girl.  I love living in Edmond and you will too!

Looking forward to meeting you soon!
