I can not afford alot but the doctor says its a good idea to get on since i am getting winded so easily now... he says its just a precaution and I am supposed to go pick up the prescription for it Monday.. I didnt even know you needed one for oxegen... I talked to my aunt earlier today and she said she had to rent the one she had for my uncle and it was expensive... so just thought if anyone had one, knew where i can get one... would ya just let me know.. ty... sherrie
Sherrie, I work for Lincare which is an Oxygen company! I can help you navigate thru this if you'd like. Oxygen is considered a drug and is governed by the FDA, so that's why you'd need a prescription.
I do have a couple of questions:
1. Do you have insurance or Medicare or Medicaid? If so, they will all pay for O2 if you have qualifying testing.
2. Is the doctor telling you to use O2 since you are getting winded while you walk around?
The company I work for has offices in Norman and OKC and I know if you need to, you could make payments. You can find concentrator machines at different places like yard or estate sales, sometimes even on ebay. I'd be careful about those machines though because they might not be putting out enough O2. Those machines are very sensitive and when they go out, they go out. There's no predicting. But the good news is that most insurances and even medicare or medicaid will pay for 36 months and if your machine goes out in that amount of time, it'll be replaced for free.
Please let me know if I can help you in any way. My email is [email protected]
