A new Experience
Tonight, Liz (nickelgirl22) and I went to our newest attraction in town...the Santa Fe Steakhouse...amazing food, but that's not the point of this post. Our waitress kept asking us if our food was okay and if we needed anything, moreso than a normal waitress. She finally asked us when we were getting ready to leave if there was something wrong with the food since there was so much left on our plates. So we both explained how we have had surgery, and our waitress was about to tear up, she just went on and on about how brave we were and how amazing that was that we had surgery. We both showed her our before pictures, and she gave us both hugs, and I really think she went to the back room and started crying, she was on the brink when she left our table.
She even offered that the next time we come in, if she is working, she will pay for a drink for both of us...that was when I told her that I wasn't old enough, however I only have 9 months to go...And she told me that if I came in for my birthday, she would personally buy my first drink for me. I've never had that reaction before when I told someone I've had surgery. It was refreshing. I get a little tired of the doubtful looks and the "OMG I can't believe you took that drastic of a step just to lose weight" look.
All in all, it was a nice night.
