I had a wonderful time at Weight Wise group last night!  It was sooo cool meeting all the new patients like me and seeing the successes.  For those that were there, I was in the middle of the 2nd to last row.

My name is Jay Newton and I've decided to change my life!

So where am I in the process?  Well, I saw Dr. Walton on 11/25/08.  I spent the whole day meeting all kinds of neat people.  I learned that I needed to lose about 45 pounds to have the surgery and that the sleeve was the best option for me.

I have strictly adhered to the aggressive diet and I had lost 13.5 pounds as of this past Wednesday.  I know it's more today but I don't make it a point to weigh.  I just focus on the diet and the change in my life.  Does anyone else get the feeling of melting?

I started at 448.5 on the day of the seminar.  My goal is to lose 200 pounds and get to 250.  I haven't been that size since very early high-school.  I would like to get on a bicycle again and play outside with my daughter.  I want to walk around at the air show and fit on a roller coaster.  More than anything else, I want to get healthy so I can live long enough to see my grandchildren.

I CAN DO THIS!!

Jay,

Sorry I didn't make it last night - had a sick kid at home.  It's always great to have a new member of the forum - especially to add more men.  We are pretty much outnumbered around here, so you may find yourself with the occasional estrogen headache from reading the posts, but you'll adjust.    (Boy - I'll be in trouble now....)

Congratulations on making the decision to change your life!  The hard part is behind you now - all the other hurdles are easy compared to overcoming the inertia to make that first phone call.
I look forward to meeting you and to seeing you around here as well.  Will you be able to make the WW Christmas party next week?

Congrats and Welcome again - feel free to ask anything that comes along.

John

It was so good to have you join our group (my second family) last night!!  I'm so glad you decided to change your life.  I started my life changing process last year right after the new year.  I would have NEVER dreamed I would be a success at this journey but...guess what....I'm getting there.  I can now see the light at the end of that long obesity tunnel.  I'm living life and not merely watching it go by and leave me behind.  My diabetes is gone...no more insulin, no blood pressure meds, no anti depressants, the C-pap machine should go away in another 30 pounds and I feel better than I have in years and years.  You will too!!!  Please ask any question you need to ask and we are all here to help you and support you in any way possible.  We've been there and done that!!!  I look forward to watching you progress, getting the rest of your pre-op weight off, setting that big date and then joining us on our looser's bench.  We're making a place for you now!!!

I also use Dr. Walton and he is an awesome man, surgeon and I would so do this all over again!!!  Good luck!  Debbie

Yes, John, you are in trouble as always!!!

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

Hi Jay! Yes I remember you from last night. Glad you decided to join this wonderful group of people and a big WELCOME!!!

You seem to have the right attitude and determination, and I also was one who had to lose a considerable amount of weight (50 lbs) before surgery. You can do this and you will do great!

BTW, our next meet and greet is next Friday, there is a post on this page from Happycat with details - hope you can join us!

Unfortunately I have Exchange servers to upgrade over that weekend so I'm tied to a computer.

BUT!  I will be at the Christmas party!
