Thanks all for your support and input it's nice to know that someone else has gone through the same things and understands what it is like.  Lisa

Only you know why you had the surgery.  Frankly, I did it for my health and longevity, and that's not affected by what anyone else thinks.  I'm fortunate to have family support and supportive colleagues at work, but it helps to remember why you did it to begin with.

I have to say that I have been very open about having my surgery and I am still answering questions and right now I am happy to announce how much I have lost. My own father didnt really understand the surgery or why I did it but I will tell you he has been watching the shows on TLC about the Morbidly obese and the surgery and my mom and he has talked about it and he understands more. See I was 425lbs at my heaviest and 407 the day I walked into the seminar and 382 the morning of surgery. I was down to 360 the wednesday before thanksgiving. ( I havent weighed again yet) so I have a long way to go but I saw myself becoming on of those people who couldn't even get out of bed. So I too will fly my NEW freak flag proudly I like it much better than my old one! And for those that think WLS is cheating or a quick fix we all know that it is a difficult road and a permenant life change to make it work.
