I can't believe it, but I truely am already sick of broths, popsiscles, and jello!! UGH!! My DH bought home some 98% fat free cream of chicken and I am wondering if I water it down to the same texture of my EAS AdvantEdge shakes if I can tolerate this. Also, Egg Drop soup has ran through my mind. Does anyone have any advice to help me make it through Dec. 15 on liquids???All these smells of my husband cooking for the kids is driving insane!! (If I wan't already there, LOL)

Thanks,
Amber

Do they have ypou on a clear liquid or a full liquid diet?  If it is a full liquid dite you can have the creamed soups if you strain any chunks out of them and let me tell you the jiuce from chicken noodle is devine on  the liquid diet.

You can have egg-drop soup if you strain it completely first.  Unfortunately, I don't think you can do the cream soups yet though.  I know it is the hardest time for you but it will be better for you if you can stick to the plan. Good luck!!

Don't do the cream soups.  They are not on our food plan.  You need to take good care of baby tummy.  The first week on liquids is a killer!  The head hunger was horrible.  For some reason the second week was much easier.  Hang tough!

I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

I was a big fan of chicken broth with a shot of tabasco or chili powder to give it a kick......not much, you don't want to stir up any upsets.  Strain the egg drop soup so you get rid of the solids (but check your food plan cause it does have starch in it I think).

I hate to put out a lot of tips cause your doctor has a pretty specific eating plan, and I think you should follow it.

Hi Amber, I know that it is hard, but you really must go by the list that the dietician gave you before your discharge. Have you tried the liquid protein that is on your list yet? Hang in there, because it is oh so worth it. Best of luck, Rita

Ok, you should follow your docs plan, however we all know we cheated just a little bit.  I drained the broth off of every kind of soup I could think of for a little variety and watered it down pretty good.  I could not stand plain 'ol chicken or beef broth.  Chicken and wild rice was my favorite it had a hearty flavor.  Just stay away from any solids, yes just one stary noodle or piece of rice is a BIG NO!!!  It really does get better the second week and you will be eating mushies before you know it.

If you are allowed sugar free fudgesicles... try the Blue Bell brand... It saved my life!!  I hated it too...
