Hello Group!

Here is a random question...Anyone had any teeth problems since surgery? I of course have not had surgery yet, BUT I do like my smile and have spent some money getting it this way and would like to keep it looking great. So anyone been to the dentist and he looked at you like you were not taking care of your teeth? Just making sure I have all my "ducks in a row" before I go under.

Have a great day!

okcgirl....  there's a wonderful product you can take called....  up-cal D ....it's a powder in a convenient little pack of 120 packs per box.  It's availabe from Liberty medical or from Amazon and it's cheap and highly effective for calcium citrate intake that will keep your bones and teeth looking and feeling great.

It comes in other forms too, but as many of those flavoring packet things that I drink in a day that  mix in a water bottle, it makes it more than easy to get my daily intake from TWO of those little packets.  (each gives you about 50% and you don't want to take them at the same time anyway to help your absorption rate)

i've been diligent about taking at least 4 of these per day simply because i feel the same as you...must take care of the teeth...  hygiene should be at the top of the list anyway... lol!

I have not had any teeth problems since WLS and I am about 8 months out now.  I have been for my regular 6 month check ups (2 since surgery) and my teeth have been good.  The dentist knows about my WLS and was happy for me and all the other health issues that have been resolved.  I think if you continue with the general good dental care and checkups you won't have any more problems than you would without WLS.

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

I had my check up a month or so ago.  No teeth issues- got a clean bill of health.  My only problem was that my dentist didn't recognize me even though I have been her patient for about 5 years!
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)
