OT ~ Weather???

I went out to go to the water department to pay my water bill.  DH has my van so I was going to have to drive his car.  The thing wont start, of couse its been since Thursday since it was last driven but still i didnt expect that. So My wonderful Mom came and got me and took me to pay my bill.

The wind is terrible and  I noticed that it ripped my drain off the side, she said she thinks its going to be a BAD winter this year.

What do you all think?  We was part of the BAD Ice last year and was without elec for 14 days! I am not looking forward to that again!

Gosh, I hope not. I am freezing today and can't stay warm. Almost this time last year is when we got all that terrible ice. I can handle almost anything but ice. Stay warm and we will hope for the best. Rita

I am already freezing, so I don't look forward to it really getting cold !!!  I'm seriously thinking of going to Wal-Mart and getting toe and hand warmers to keep in my purse !!  Insane?  Maybe, but I'm tired of being cold already ! 

Ditto on the cold.  My hands feel like ice.  On top of the cold I've been having physical therapy and after 1 1/2 hours they end the treatments with ice packs on my neck and lower back....arrrrrgh.  I can hardly stand it.  I do plan to take my coat and gloves in with me this afternoon to through on me.  It's amazing how cold it is now after loosing so much weight!!!

Sorry to hear about the physical therapy, but happy to hear I'll get to see you tomorrow night!

I, who don't wear coats, now have (in addition to my beloved hoodies) a leather jacket and a nice barn coat with work gloves.....and I even wore the gloves today.  My humidifier is going as well as the heater-I pulled out the electric blanket yesterday.

I have heard that we are expected to have above normal temps through Feb.  Now the dumb thing.....the squirrels haven't been digging as much as they usually do. They usually did up all the nuts they have planted about now....Someone said that means it will be a mild winter...Who knows! I do know they have more nests around here. More than I have ever seen. I have a pecan tree and it has 3 or 4 nests in it....no pecans this year, but lots of nests.
I think I will go with the weather man and hope for the best.

I was without elec for 10 days last year! I felt like a survivor!! I had so much fun thinking of things I could cook in my fireplaceI That was day one and two....after that I would have died for a 8 piece meal at KFC!! I hated cooking in the fire place then!! I could see my own breath it was so cold in the house.....I NEVER want to go back to that!

I dunno what you guys are taking about.....it's like 70 degrees outside.  Earlier today i went to the beach and there wasn't a drop of snow to be found.....  you guys make it sound like you're in canada or something....

Well just think...no hurricane there though....hehe....

I love you gang....so if you don't want to be here..then come here....i could use a bigger group of WLS people to hang out with....right now we have a WLS group on-island...  there's me and a lady who hates men...  so our meetings are short...  I tell her to stay off carbs and she tells me to stop breathing air...  I guess that's how it goes...lol....

This makes me glad that I have a gas heater and stove...if we freeze, I'll be able to keep warm lol. And I don't know what you are talking about with the squirrels, ours down in Ada have been on a nut hunt like crazy for the past three months lol.
