Is QUICKLY approaching!  I was never one for New Year's resulotions if I spelt that right if not I think you know what I mean...

New Year New US!!!

Post-oper's since having your surgery and this is the ones that had surgery before this year.... Do you find that you KNOW now how strong a person you are and can stick to a resolution or was you always able to do it or, YES one more or, do you say Kapooie and dont even mess with it?

Post-oper's that had surgery this year ~ Did you do resolutions before this year?  was you successful? Since surgery and finding out just how tough we really are do you plan to have one this year?

pre-oper's are you a resolution junkie?  Do you stick to yours or just say forget about it and dont even think about it?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As for me I think that since my surgery Feb 5th and seeing just how strong I am at being so successful so far I am going to go for it and set a NEW goal for myself other then the same ole same ole that I hear people talk about.  Not sure what it will be yet but I am pondering the thoughts.
I'm glad you posted this. I didn't make resolutions for 08 because I was just too tired and emotionally wiped out from 07...but I really want to spend some time thinking about things I want to accomplish in 09.  Honestly, my plan for 08 was to survive it, and I did, but it's time to move on and thrive.
I like resolutions-and goals-to me they show intention to improve for the future.  It doesn't mean you were bad or weak before, just that you want to get better.
My mantra is going to be "Less new and more follow through....." but I'm going to think about 5 goals for next year and I will get back to you.
I didn't make a resoulution this year because I was about 2 weeks post op. I still don't feel very strong when it comes to alot of issues. I can certainly handle food better but it is only because of this wonderful tool that I have. I pretty much say kapooie with it Although I do hope 2009 is a better year. Don't get me wrong, I am very happy about the weight loss this year. I also lost my nephew and my Mother this year. Okay, now I just feel like I am going to babble, so anyway Happy New Year. Rita
Rita, you give yourself too little credit.  Sure, the surgery did the heavy lifting, but you're ultimately the one that chooses to pass on the potato chips or skip the second helping of whatever tastes good at the moment.
 Personally, I don't see the point in New Year's Resolutions.  What's magically going to change when the clock strikes midnight?  One day at a time.
I am with Ed on New Year's resolutions.  There is nothing magical about January 1.  That being said I DO have plans for 2009:
1) get to goal weight- I can almost see the light at the end of that tunnel!
2) focus more on lifting weights at the gym and a little less on the cardio
Both very doable plans!
Happy New Year!
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)
Ok, I've thought about it-and the two biggest things I could do that would benefit me would be
1. Finish getting my house in order (I'm tired of living in a work in progress).
2. Finish a book
There!  Not earth shattering by any means, but both of these things would make a huge difference for me.
