This is surreal.  For many, months I have jumped through hoop after hoop to make this surgery happen.  It consumed my every thought. It has been a supreme test of patience and endurance just to get to this point.  And, now, here I sit freaking out about surg on Wednesday.  I am questioning my sanity and trying to remember why it was so important to do this thing.  I know better, I thought I was fully prepared, but...........Help!

Hi, Camille.
Almost everyone feels as you do, right before surgery. It's surgery, and you've never gone through this before. I think it's the unknown that messes with our mind. Get thyself busy! Clean out a closet (assuming you're still at home) or go shopping (but not for clothes because soon they won't fit!). Pack, if you haven't already. Take a walk. Write a list of why you're having this surgery or what you're looking forward to being able to do because of it. Put on some happy music and sing or dance. You can do this. You will find great peace, before you go in. I'm praying for you.
Blessings,
Mary

Hey, I like that advice...clean a closet...he he!!!!  Camille's at my house right now so that would work great for me! LOL!

I think makaing a list of why you wanted to have the surgery would be great and also what you are looking forward to being able to do.  At least tomorrow you will be busy with all the pre-op appts so you won't have time to worry.

Take a deep breath, you are going to do great.

Look in the mirror, you are why you are doing this, you are what's so important about having it done.  Size is just a number, but you are important, your health, your well being, you as a person.

While surgery is nerve racking, especially if you haven't done one before, it will all go great and you will chuckle at yourself afterwards.  I have had 3 different surgeries this year already, really, you will come through just fine.

Keep busy, if you haven't packed up them summer clothes start doing that, you won't need them next year, they won't fit.  Go through all your clothes and get rid of anything that is too big or you hate, don't keep the big stuff for just in case, you won't need the cushion of just in case.

You are prepared, just a little nervous, you will be fine.

Best of luck.

Hey Camille you wouldn't be normal if you weren't nervous.  You've already done some of the hardest part.  You have such an awesome sister who has already paved the way for you and will be an awesome resource of what to expect.  You will do fine.  I wasn't nervous prior to my surgery because I so desperately wanted it and never thought I'd be able to afford it in a million years.  I was blessed with being able to finance it.  I did, however, have buyer's remorse a few days afterwards but it didn't hang around long.  I'm now 8 1/2 months out and 156 pounds lighter and feeling awesome.  This is why I did it.  I no longer take insulin (since the day of surgery) and most of my other load of medications are gone and the other one will go away soon I think.  You will be fine and we have your place all ready on the looser's bench.  Just close your eyes and imagine how you will feel a few months from now!!!!!!!

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

Your freakout demonstrates that you are fully prepared.  A few months from now, you'll be wondering why you didn't do this sooner.  You'll do great!

Camille,

You're fine....we all did this little thing you're doing now....  and in fact, just wait, you have even more of this kind of drama that will hit you again...like right after surgery...and then when you're sick of eating the mushies....and just random days until it will get really awesome just one day outta the blue and you'll be laughing about this later....and stuff...

So hey...have some fun....joke about life and the people who have been your torture up until now...  for the sweetest of revenge is gonna be yours...  you'll see...  men will follow you....women will want to be like you.... enemies will hate you even more for looking so good!  So see...there are benefits and stuff...

Take a nice chill pill....or drink some fine brandy...or raise some hell with some Jack Daniels (take videos and pictures for me to distribute on youtube and stuff).  hehe...and when it's all over and done, you'll say wow...that Thomas isn't just goodlookin'....he's wise too... (more of a wise a$$)..hehe I never buy into my own hype BTW....

Smile for me...
