The thing is, while I didn't ever weigh 700 pounds, I could have-because whatever is in them that got them to that point also lived or still lives in me. It also shows how a downward spiral can just get out of control and destroy lives. I don't regret my lap band, but after watching what MIGHT have happened, I feel validated in my choice-taking control before it got to that point.
One of the things many WLS patients deal with is the old "easy way out" comments-and we all know that isn't true. It's all work, but so much worth it.
Hi, Debra.
I was feeling pretty sorry for myself--can't have this, can't have that, ad nauseum. I sat down and watched one of the shows, like what you mentioned, and started thanking God that I am on the road to wellness. My heart goes out to those who are living in care homes, with nearly zero chance to ever leave. Nope; no more complaints from me.
Blessings,
Mary

Those shows can sure make you think! I never thought I would reach and exceed 300, but I did! I am also glad to have such great friends who understand and support me in my choice for WLS.
