Tomorrow is my surgery day. I have to be in Edmond at 9:15, and surgery should start around 11ish. I'M SCARED TO DEATH!!! I have butterflies in my stomach, hopefully Dr. Broussard and Walton can take care of that! HA HA!  I feel anxiety, I'm worried about the pain, before and after. Aww...why do I feel like I'm flipping out at the last minute!!

HELP!!
Thanks,
Amber

Amber, I remember having a few thoughts of being scared too before surgery. U will be fine and do fine. U are going to be protected and God will be there with you and guiding the surgeons hands during this. U will be up and walking before u know it and on the road to a speedy recovery and an awesome life ahead.  God has got u covered lady bug.

All surgery is scary Amber.  Try to relax, stress just makes things worse.

Pain is nothing but intense sensation, if you don't label it as a "bad thing" then your body won't react to it as a bad thing.

Amber,
I wish you the best of luck with your surgery tomorrow!  I know you have to have so much anxiety!  You probably won't sleep much tonight.  Just take comfort in knowing your surgeon's are great.  They have such wonderful reputations.  You are in the best hands possible!
I hope you will write as soon as you can!
Hugs and Prayers for you!
Kim

Amber, I did the exact same thing!  And....my sister is here with me in OKC and preparing for her surgery on Wed and I can tell you that she is also starting to freak out too.  This is normal.  The morning of my surgery I almost bolted except that Amy the pre-op nurse was so nice and friendly and then Dr. B. came in and gave me happy juice so then I didn't care anymore!

I am sure you are great and you will fly through the surgery with no problems. I was worried the night before too it is something that I think we all go through. You will be here on the losers bench in no time.

Amber, it's late at night and I hope you get a chance to read this before you go.

You know, I'm a very modest person.  A few years ago I learned I had some pretty serious female issues and was trying to get pregnant.  The fertility dr. I'd been referred to was a man.  (Up til that point, I'd only had female gyns).  Not only was the Dr. a man, but he was my age and I was very nervous about him poking around my hoo-ha to the point I wasn't going to go.  That's when my best friend told me, "just powder your poopoo and go."  So anytime I get nervous about seeing a Dr, I remember that and it helps.

The point is, you are fixing to do something that you need to do.  You have not done this flippantly or without thought.  You will succeed and you will be a better and healthier person for doing this!  Tomorrow really is the first day of the rest of your life!

So Amber, just powder your poopoo and go!

(And keep this so you can remind me when I'm on the eve of my surgery and I'm freaking out!)

It's going to be great.  Your fear isn't unusual, but you'll be up and around before you know it.  Best wishes!

By the time you get this, you'll be on the loser's bench with a bunch of us, but I wanted to say GOOD LUCK!  You're going to do great!
