No Nausea pill before surgery???
Thanks,
Amber
Sorry they didn't get your script called in. You can call the hospital number and it will roll over to the nurses desk. They have direct contact with the surgeons and will be able to get the script called in. NEVER feel like you are a burden to these surgeons! They WANT to know what is going on and if you have a need or concern.
The nurses are all well versed in pre and post op issues and are a great asset to the practice! Most of the nurses have had WLS or have been involved so they have practical experience in the things that come up with WLS patients. I have actually known Dr B to get upset if you don't call him about a concern! Dr W as well!!
Call!! Don't wait until the last minute - there is usually a seminar on Saturday's so one of the surgeons will be available - not always the advocates though.
Good Luck....it is a great ride and an awesome journey!!!

Same here. I didn't have any RX before hand they just put something in my IV and gave me a patch behind my ear. I would call them. You are not a burden and they are the ones that didn't get your RX faxed over so ...yeah..call them!

Amber, don't sweat this. I got my pill and took it the morning of surgery. However, I told the Pre-Op nurse when she asked the last time I'd had anything to eat or drink. She said it really didn't matter. Evidently, Dr. B has only been prescribing that medicine in recent months. They will put an anti-nausea patch behind your ear (which stays on for 3 days) and also put medicine into your IV. The pill is just another layer of protection. If you can get them to call it in for you - great. If you can't get somebody on the phone - let it slide. You'll be fine without it.
