Happy Turkey Day to all !!- and a teeny tiny update

Well, looks like I made it to the 150 lbs loss, and even though that is a respectable weight loss, seems I have issues with food not being my friend...I went to my 9 month post-op appt yesterday and they are sending me to see Dr. Keller for a post-op psych evaluation (I knew that at one of these appointments they would eventually scoot my booty to see Dr. K!!)

What the issue seems to be and I agree, is that I have not really accepted the fact that at nine months out, I can and if needed should eat more than 1/2 cup of food, so since I have not really done that, what I eat is not really doing the trick and I get the muchies between meals. The point is, not to be afraid of food and eat more if needed. Just no snacking!!!!! Or at least no grazing, which I have done somewhat lately.

So, here is hoping that Dr. K doesn't think I am looney!!

Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving!

Anna

Hi, Anna.
I'm sure talking to Dr. Keller will help. It's always good to open up about any issue with someone who's a good listener and can give suggestions. You have done marvelously with your weight loss--150 lbs.! Wow!  It may be that you're just in the habit of measuring out 1/2 cup of food, but it may also be that you're fearful of regaining the weight (or whatever). No matter what the issue is, there will be an answer.
Have a great Thankgsiving.
Blessings,
Mary

Anna you are doing amazing!  Congrats on the 150 pounds. Do you realize you have lost equivelant to another human being, you've lost a whole person, what an accomplishment. I completely understand what you are going through, I too am afraid of over eating and gaining the weight back, but as long as we follow the nutritions advice we will be fine.

Have a great thanksgiving

Girl, I had to stop and say CONGRATS on the 150lbs. You are doing good. No, u are not looney and I am sure he will not think the same thing. Could it be that you have gotten in the mind set that this weight is not coming back and got used to measuring out the 1/2 cup? U will be fine, and happy Thannksgiving to you also

Congrats on the huge weight loss!  You're using that banana to it's fullest advantage.

I really think we all need a "tune-up" with Dr. Keller from time to time.  We have gone through some amazing physiological and psychological changes since surgery.  Go for your tune-up and work through whatever is going on in your head.  Maybe he will have sage words of advise for you.

Happy Thanksgiving!
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

I still struggle with that but I'm getting better.  And it also hit me that the odd unplanned snack or dessert isn't a "failure"....it's just an unplanned snack.  I still don't have that many, but when I do, I enjoy it, no guilt, and move on.
