WAY OT -- Advice from teachers
I know there are plenty of teachers on here. I am preparing for Black Friday (my husband and I look forward to it every year) Does any one know anything pro or con about the FLY pentop computer? Target has it for $29 (regular $79). It has a multiplication/division program that tells you step by step how to solve problems. This is one of Giorgi's biggest weaknesses so was wondering if this would be something good for her. Of course the online site raves about it but would like opinions of anyone who might have had experience with it. She loves electronics but still don't want to waste my money.
I haven't worked with one personally. I would think think that anything that would talk a kid through a math problem step by step would be beneficial- especially since a machine can't get frustrated and get testy when it explains for the 40th time. Giorgi might be more willing to work with a magic pen than Mom or Dad. I would risk the $29. If she hates it you haven't risked much. If it works- bonus!

I think I will risk it and get one for each of the girls. They saw me "playing" with it on line the other day and Elizabeth saw the Spanish software. She really wants to relearn her Spanish. I figure I can get the math and Spanish software and they can share that. I bought a reading pen for Giorgi and paid a whole lot more and it was a disappointment.
