whats up with this nausea

hey everyone...I am not feeling well at all tonight. I have been nauseated all evening and then there is gas and rumbling in my gut area(tmi) I have been getting all my liquids in and proteins, but this evening, I just feel nasty sick. I am one week out today, and so far hadnt been bothered with nausea. This sux cause I actually had felt pretty good all day until this evening. Any insights on this one

Believe it or not you can still be coming down off the anestesia up to a full week later (maybe even more).  Did Dr.Kirk give you a perscription for some Phenagrin cream?  You rub it on your wrists and it helps with the nausea.  Maybe someone else can chime in with a little more info.  I know at about a week out I was feeling kinda woosy myself.  Hope you get better hun.  HUGS

Thanks Wolfe. He didnt give me nothing for nausea, probably will call in the morning and see if he can call something in...ugh....wow...I didnt know that about that anesthesia..wow. Thanks again

The other bit of info that they did not tell me was that after surgery you are suppose to remain on your Prilosec, etc...for up to three full months.  This was a lifesaver for me, once I started taking my Prilosec again, the nausea subsided in a BIG way.  Hope this helps!

Thanks! I am kinda wondering if it is that too. I had stopped taking my prevacid the day before surgery and they didnt give me any in the hospital, and so I guess I kinda forgot about it...bad me...bad me. I took one this morning so hopefully in a day or so I will be feeling better with the nausea. I just hate feeling so icky.

I suffered from Nasuea for the first 3 months after surgery!  Get back on the prilosec to start with and if you continue to be nasueated let them know.  I ended up on two other scrips besides the phenagrin (sp?) One is cheap while the other once costed me 80 bucks and i have ins. it didnt matter what I ate I was weak and felt like I was twirling.  Speak up, there are things they can give you to help it subside when it happens!

Thanks Ms Sassypants! lol...I called them today and they are calling me in some phenergan, so I will see how that does. If it does not work, trust me, I will be hot on the phone again
