Why it happened

I know medicare is an arse when it comes to covering WLS. But if it was me I would go to either Tulsa or Norman.I have a friend who used Dr. keith and she paid what I did out of pocket 200 for psych and 200 for nutrition. Plus that includes 2 sessions with the psych 90 days after surgery and all your follow ups with the nut. Plus you have to purchase your meal replacements with him.
As for the doggie...mine is a diabetic so I make sure that he eats the same kind of food and I never put more in his bowl then what he is suppose to have. Unless your daughter gave him a cup of popcorn then she is not at fault and his sugar as you know would have shot up then not a few days later. My dog has seizures also and as the vet told me thats part of the diabetes. So when he has one I give him pure honey and after a few licks hes back to being himself. check out his food. I found out alot of brands have corn as the first ingredient in them and thats just sugar for doggies. As
as for you and what you are going through I hope things work out for you..if you need someone to vent to or just yell at....I am volunteering...

Pattye, Thanks so much. I made sure that I read all the labels on his food and we got rid of the treats that the first ingredient was sugar. So far he is doing really well. I have to take his sugar on Tuesday morning and call the vet. They will adjust his insulin at that time if they need to. Madison knows that she is not at fault for his diabetes. she was just feeling a little guilty because she knows not to give him chocolate. She is doing better with the whole thing and I have showed her how to give his shots. She did really well with it today.
As for Medicare, so far they have paid for everything including the psych eval. They will pay for the nut too as long as I go to the one at the hospital St Francis in Tulsa. that is where I will have surgery at. I have followed their guidelines to the T to make sure my surgery is covered. They have it all outlined on their website. Thanks again. I may need a listening ear....

Glad to hear about your daughter and doggie. I just make sure mine does not get anything sugary...LOL he loves sugar free applesauce cake and thats about a bite every 6 months. In my other apartment he figured out how to jump up at the bar and then get on the counter.Came home and found a bundt applesauce cake torn apart and a very lazy dog on the couch. That taught me to move the chairs away from the bar....
