Hi everyone, everything is going ok. I am sipping water and walking good. I am getting my vitamins in and protein shakes in pretty ok. My biggest thing now is........WHEN WILL I BE FREE FROM THIS PAINFUL GAS!!! lol. I feel absolutely awful and the pain is hideous. I am up walking and it seems to help a bit. I had some gas x yesterday and I
guess its working, I just want this to be gone.

Welcome to our world!!!  I don't have that problem all the time and nothing like you're having like I did in the beginning.  Gas X does help a lot.  Some days I still have it and it makes no sense to me because I wouldn't have eaten anything different or new.....  Sorry, I'm no help.  I keep candles in my office that I can light "just in case"....

I do have more problems if I eat much dairy or the sugar free ice cream bars especially in the evenings.  I look so forward to having that little bit of ice cream that I'll put up with the gas to have it.  It sounds like you are doing well and I'm so proud of you.  I can't wait to start seeing the changes in you.  Be sure and take pictures at least monthly....you will want to see them for yourself when you can't see anyone in the mirror but the old LaDetra!!!

I plan on taking pics once a month. Just got done taking one, but havent uploaded it yet. I am going to mix the protein with water instead of milk and see if that helps too. Thanks

I'll bet that just might help.  A lot of people who weren't lactose intollerant prior to surgery have some problem now and vice versa.  I was lactose intollerant before and I am still about the same.

Just  look at it as jet propulsion to get you walking on down the road.  If nothing else you can blame it on the dog !

Hi, LaDetra.
My gaseous exhalations are getting better. I've been taking Gas X strips once every 4 hours and that has really helped. Keep walking and sipping. This, too, shall pass. (sorry, couldn't resist)
Blessings,
Mary

I found that a heating pad on my tummy helped with the gas and the pain post-op.  I loved my heating pad there for a while!
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)
