I love margaritas - Charleston's has the best one ever (Perfect Margarita, lives up to its name). Anyway, I have tried a few times since surgery and I don't get overly sloshed, but what I find is that it actually kind of burns when you drink it. Now, when I want one, I just ask DH to get one and have a sip or two. Then I remember that it burns and that I don't really want it, so he ends up with the whole thing. I think one of these times I'll remember that it does burn and I won't drink it and not have him order it.
ummmmmm...can I plead the 5th???? lol....yep, drinking is definitely interesting after RNY - but I am also almost 2.5 years out and didn't even attempt anything until 2 years. I have a little transfer addiction going on - would rather drink and dance than hmmm...just about anything.... yes it hits hard and fast but I can also kill the buzz by drinking a big glass of water as well. (for the most part this works every time....but every once in a while the buzz stays)
I have recently found that I do have to watch things - I have regained my pre-surgical reflux issue - but only when I am drinking. I don't know what amount might trigger it but if it happens - it hurts like hades!
I would say - why get started! It is wasted calories - has no protein value that would be worth it - AND you might blow a .08 pretty easily depending on how you handle things......and who needs that?
Make a good decision for you though.... we are just here to be entertained - or to be the entertainment (in my own case!) Ruth
