Scientifically, he is Python Curtus Curtus, a Borneo Short tailed python-common name (and I hate this) is Blood Python, named after the red variety.
Like all snakes-he'll only poop once a month or so-that's the good news. The bad news is it can vary from a neat little tidy deposit to an awful mess, just like the rest of us.
Feeding response is somewhere between the low key Ball python (who will still bite you if you are stupid enough to hand feed-I'm not) and the High Octane Retic. I've had retics come out of their enclosure trying to get to the food-as in fly through the air. While it IS cool when that happens, then you've got a highly agitated snake you have to catch and confine again so I try not to encourage that sort of thing.
Right now I only have pythons. I do like boas, but there is a disease that Boas can carry and not show symptoms that can wipe out an entire colony of pythons because they are less resistant to it.
