His picture is in the Critter's folder-it's a snake so if you don't like them, don't look. He's a big boy too-he ways around 18 pounds or so.
weighs weighs weighs weighs......aggggggh.
I wayed 266 pounds till I loosed a bunch of wait.

I did have to put him in a locking cage-because Oliver the parrot can open doors and that is one door he really should NOT open.
Isn't it funny how we have to look? I finally gave up on desensitizing my parents and just moved the snakes to the back of the house. As kids growing up in Oklahoma-they were probably instilled with the idea that all snakes were bad, and I understand that was intended to save their life. In actual fact, even the new, big guy, couldn't do serious harm, although you might end up with stitches, but if I showed him to Mom (I won't) she'd have nightmares forever.
I am going to have to beef up his permanent cage-he's really a heavy guy which means anything I give him to climb, etc has to be really sturdy and stable. Just like humans, heavy bodied snakes are not the most graceful things.

Now Sassy-I just posted a note and warning for those people who didn't want to look. If I had gotten a new puppy, would you have posted a funny story about running over a dog?
I do understand that people have fears, likes and dislikes (and that is why I don't put the snake pics IN the body of the message)-but I have likes and dislikes too-and I happen to like snakes and I have feelings too. Your story might have been ok in it's own thread, but in a thread where I'm sharing my excitement over a new pet-I think it's a little off base.

Sassy, you are not the only person who is facing fear or uncertainty, and I'm not about to try to one up you on who is having a rougher time. You did hurt my feelings, and if it is not ok for me to point that out-you SHOULD steer clear of my posts, or at least think before you post a response. If someone tells you you've hurt their feelings, crying doesn't do anyone a bit of good, just learn from it and move on.
You know-a simple-oops, sorry, I didn't know it was a sensitive subject would have been fine and this is fine too.

OH, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO AND OH NO!!!! Don't know if you can tell it or not, but DO NOT, NOT like snakes, but being the stupid idiot I am, I had to look anyway. If you find Moon missing, that is the first place I would go look.
