Hello ALL,

Lorena  introduced me to this OH site and I agree this is a very informative and wonderful  group. I thought I would find out if any of you had experienced these pains and what the cause may be.

I  had surgery 12 days ago and have very mild if any pain, till this afternoon.   I am having pains  in the stomach area below the left rib cage.   It almost double  me over it gets so sharp, this happens with the slightest of movement.   Has anybody else experienced this?

My pain medication didn't take the edge off.

Well, I'm not sure I can help you since I had the sleeve and not RNY.  I had a lot of pain on the left side right after surgery and I was told it was because that was the hole that they took all of the equipment in and out of.

Maybe you should call you doctor tomorrow?

I hope you feel better and soon!

Its probably referred pain from your biggest incision on the left side. I had to hold my tummy whenever I walked anywhere because the slightest jiggle gave me that pain. Call Dr. G's office to talk to them. If it is referred pain, they'll get you the good drugs.

I had the exact same pain about then......I thought I tore a stitch or something!!!  It was just normal pains....my husband had his RNY a month or so after mine and had the same pain about that time also....I think it's normal but if it is that severe you might call your doctor to be sure.  Mine was sharp for a few seconds and then just sore...it didn't double me over.

Sounds like the same pain most of us went through.  Now while I did not have it double me over in pain I did have some sharp pains at times.  Definitely call Dr G's office tomorrow ask to speak to Jeannie.  She will relay the info to Dr G and get back to you on it.  Good luck and keep us informed.

Rose,

I too felt this....  I was fortunate however....  it didn't last long.  When I was feeling it though, it felt like someone had released a small squirrel that didn't have an off button...  So hey at least we know that you're built just like us...  so congratulations...you're normal...  (actually, if you're like us, we'd call that "abnormal"....hehe...

T.

It is good to know  that the squirrel  will and can be caged.  He was very pesky yesterdday.  I believe I could of have  took up squirrel hunting.  I do feel much better this morning but moving a little slower.

Thanks for the infomation , I am glad to be abnormal .

I agree with all the others.  The largest incision is where tehy did most of the work through and put the bigger items in.

HOpe you are feeling better!  Welcome to the losers bench!
