I had something gross happen that I have heard of, but it's never happened to me before.  Something I ate several days before got stuck in my stoma!  I was really puzzled until I finally yakked it up, and there it was-a piece of bacon (I hadn't eaten bacon in a couple of days.....).

I'm fine now, but you best believe I'll be watching my chewing......

My colleagues and I who have discussed it have noted the offending item is never digested, therefore it probably stuck somewhere in the throat or upper stomach before finally wedging in.

Since we discuss all kinds of gross occurrences here, I wanted to share mine with people who appreciate it.

(That is why I missed the dinner)

Yep, that's gross. ; ) I'm really glad you hacked it up before they had to go in with a scope and fish that bacon out for you! Ugh!
Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

So far (knock wood) I haven't had anything get stuck that sitting upright, slobbering a bit and relaxing can't loosen.  A heating pad helps.

Running around, getting upset only tightens the band, so that never works for me.

Deb,
While it may be gross, it sure is a lesson for me, anyway.  I have had a couple of episodes where I didn't chew well and felt like puking, but fortuantely, nothing has gotten stuck yet.  I will definitely concentrate on chewing well after your post!!  Glad everything came out okay.

Chewing properly was one of THE hardest things to learn-but it's probably the most important one of all.

Glad you finally honked it up. I'm sure you feel better!

Gross!!!!
I'm glad you are all better!
I still have moments when I realize I am not chewing well enough...short ones...my tummy lets me know the minute it hits that it has disapproved and I better straighten up.
