Here I go again
Kim,
Seeing this post this morning makes me sick. I'm looking forward to you posting about your improved health and not another set back.
Keep your head high and leave everything in God's hands. He will take care of you.
Do they think the infection originated through the picc line? Or at the picc line site? What hospital are you in?
Please keep us updated.

They don't know yet. I am pushing to keep the PICC but it depends on what type of infection I have if any. I could've had a false positive, but something is going on because I keep running low-grade fevers. Otherwise, I felt pretty good compared to last time. My only issue was I was so weak but that was because I needed a transfusion. I am in Wichita at Via Christi-St. Francis. This too shall pass, but unfortunately last night I wasn't feeling too positive. I am sick of the obstacles, but I am doing my best to push through them. Believe me I can't wait to post something positive too. I feel like the bad-news kid and that stinks. But I do anyway cause I need the support and never fail to get that.
How is your brother doing?
How is your brother doing?
Kim my heart sank when I saw this post this morning. I cannot get over how much you have been through. You have every right to feel the way you do. This is when you cry out to God and tell him exactly how you feel and what you are going through. I cannot believe what a mess this has been for you. I am praying for you that this will be over soon. You need a break! Please keep us updated and who cares if you are not posting perfect news....this is not a perfect world and bad things happen sometimes. We are here to support you and that means through the tough times too!! Love you, Amy

I am sorry. I know it's tough-but I really think the point to getting wammed over and over again is to break something so that you experience a breakthrough. Surrender to the experience, and be open to what it is you need to learn. Surrender doesn't mean giving up-it means being completely open to what is going on.
Sometimes, for me, the big picture is just more than I can stand, and those times I narrow my focus on what I need to do now. That's actually when I have my best moments.
Kim,
Thanks for asking about my brother. He was determined to get out of the hospital the day after surgery instead of staying 2 days. Dr. Walton did let him out the next day. I drove him from FBH to Bartlesville (stopping one time to walk around) and he insisted on driving the rest of the way to Pittsburg (2 hours). His car was parked here at my house while he was in the hospital.
I let him drive home. He had to stop half way (per dr. Walton) and do some walkiing. Originally, he was planning on going to work the next day (surgery was Monday and he was going to go to work on Wednesday) but he decided to stay home to buy stuff he needed for his new diet and get his prescriptions filled.
Well, things didn't go as planned and they wouldn't fill one of his prescriptions (Protonix) so he ended up staying home all week getting that ironed out. I think that was a good call. He didn't need to hurry back to work. So, he will be going back on Monday.
I talked to him yesterday and he said he just got home from a 3 1/2 mile walk!! I couldn't believe it! That is how much he walked pre-surgery when he was trying to lose his weight! He said that he took it much slower, but he did the whole walk! I couldn't believe it!
So, I guess from the sounds of things he must be doing pretty good!
Thanks again for asking. Know that I'm thinking of you and praying for you to get over this huge hurdle you are struggling with. Please don't worry about posting negative things on the board. We are all pulling for you and you need to get it off your chest and get the support we are all here to give!
Hang in there and take care,
Dot
