Self-suplementing pre-op
I meant to ask my Dr. the last time but totally spaced it and won't see him again untill Feb...but would it be a good idea to start doing vitimin suplements now? I won't be having surgery untill late spring most likely but I was wondering if it would hurt to go ahead and start a multi-vitamin regimine, I was also looking at starting some of the Hair Growth supplements now. I have really thin fine hair as it is and i'm scared of going bald after surgery....let me know what your Dr.'s said about it
Hi.
I don't know about the hair supplementation, but my doctor gave me the okay to begin taking what I'll be taking after surgery. I told him I wanted to build up my body for surgery, and he thought that was very wise. I take Celebrate Vitamins' multi-vitamin, calcium, and iron+C (all chewable; they taste great!) and sublingual B-12 (from WalMart).
Good luck.
Blessings,
Mary

I read many people's pages when I first started my journey towards surgery. I read that one person started taking prenatel vitamins. So I did too. I wanted extra help with my nails. I was letting them grow out from the fake ones. Anyway, I have been taking that and sub b12 and LOTS of Vitamin c and fish oil. After I had my labs done the end of October my surgeon's office called and said for me to start taking b50 and iron. I had never heard of b50 and I knew when I was smaller I had issues with Iron but I didn't know I still had those issues. Anyway that might be a suggestion for you. The b50 is for metabolism support and you just overall well being. I didn't know that until I went to buy it. Its under $4.00 a bottle also.
I used Biotin and also used the Nioxin hair treatment after it started getting thinner... my hair, like yours is fine textured. Good news is, you won't go bald. Mine is thick now. *hugs* Message me if you want any tips on coloring/styling to hide the thinning. You are about the same age I was when I had mine. I could probably offer up some advice, if you want.
