Tastes change post WLS.  Before WLS I was a fat free girl, or fully loaded.  Now I can't stand either, and go for the 2%-isn't that weird?  What about you?

Hi, Debra.
Well, I'm pre-op (for just a few more days!), but I am an equal opportunity eater. I'll eat sugar-free, fat-free, low-fat, 1%, 2%, unleaded, or leaded. Which is why I need WLS! :)
Blessings,
Mary

I don't do fat free and I don't do fully loaded either.  I do 2% when I have milk.  I tried to have a no fat-egg nogg latte yesterday after work and they put whip on it and I didn't realize it before I drove off (Star Bucks).  I was so sick by the time I consumed 1/2 of it.  I guess the whipcream got me.  It tasted good but I paid for it too!!!  I also had a taste of my DH fried pork chop he got when we went out to dinner.  I could feel the grease in my mouth and couldn't wait to brush my teeth.  It was total disgusting.  No fried foods for me either.

Ewwww.  I'm going to have to modify a savory sweet potato dish for thanksgiving-it uses heavy cream, but I don't think I'd be able to handle that.  I haven't been able to drink starbucks whipped cream since surgery-but it actually has more calories than most of the drinks, so it's gotta be full of fat.

I have my sugar free egg nog syrup and my 2 percent milk and I've been doing a little toddy every night....LOL.  I did take a peek at a small bottle of the real stuff and almost died when I saw the calories-and I'd probably puke it up anyway.

I choose 1% milk (although I have switched to Lactaid milk and it's hard to find the 1%) and low fat cheeses.  Pre-op, I ate it all regardless of calories- that's why I had WLS!  The only time I did FF cheese was when I was dieting hard.  That stuff doesn't melt!  It's plastic!
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)
