 I think you're confusing the hippy era with the disco days.  My friends and I used to wear macrame belts with really long ends over a tunic over huge bell bottoms.  Note:  it was the bell bottom part of the pants that was huge.  We were stylin'!!!  There's a few other pictures in my head that I should probably forget about but that's definitely one!!!  donna

I hated Bell Bottoms.  I remember as a kid riding my bike and the pants getting caught in my bicycle chain.  My mom's answer was for me to tuck my pants legs into my knee socks but I looked like such a DORK   Of course when I did that I seem to remember getting grease on my lovely tube socks and mom getting upset about that!  Being a kid in the 70s was hard!

OH I COULD DISCO NOW!! BUT TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH I AM AN 80'S GAL!! I REMEMBER WEARING THE HEADBANDS LIKE OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN AND THEN DRESSING TO LOOK LIKE MADONNA. OH AND THOSE SPRINGY LITTLE BELTS!! THOSE WERE THE DAYS!! I THINK DISCO MIGHT MAKE A COMEBACK AND WHEN IT DOES WE WILL ALL HAVE TO GET TOGETHER AND GO DANCING WITHOUR SKINNY SELVES!!

I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER ABOUT MYSELF. I STILL HAVE 79LBS LEFT TO GO BUT THE DIFFERENCE THAT 117LBS GONE MAKES IS PRICELESS!!
