Question for Today-Exercise-Has the cool weather slowed you down?

Lordy lordy lordy lordy-a sloth would look fast next to me.  The double whammy of shorter days and cooler temperatures has made me practically hibernate.  Ok, I had a cold too.

With family obligations and holidays-trying to set aside time for a new gym schedule isn't really practical either.   So, I'm pulling out my old friend the recumbent bike and we are going to get better aquainted.

It really can't get any easier-you can do it in your jammies while watching TV.  Hopefully that will perke me up so that I can move on to more challenging things.

How are you guys doing with exercise?  If you're not doing so well, what are you going to do about it?

(What do you already HAVE that you could use.....)

I agree with you on everything....and to add to the mix I have had family obligations in making sure my Mom is cared for.  By the time I go to work and leave at 6:00a.m. and go check on her at 3:00p.m. and then drive back home it is usually bed time!!!  I do have the recombent bike and like you I plan to get much better acquainted as well as beef up my exercise time on the weekends.  I usually would take off the weekends other than walking but now that everything is haywire I will make better use of the weekends.

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

Some of it may be survivor's guilt-I feel horrible that I can go outside, feel the sun on my face, and my Uncle John can't.  But he can't whether I do or not-it makes no difference in the scheme of things to him-but to ME (and to you) we still need that movement.  Remember, it's ok to be alive and well.

Hi, Debra.
I don't mind the cold, but put rain in the mix and I'm
inside. I manage to move in water 3-5 times a week, and I use the arm bike most every day, especially during tv commercials. Walking isn't an option yet, but I look forward to being able to do that, in the near future. I do my sitting stretches daily, but that's about it. I don't have any other equipment, and my physical issues get in the way, but, like I said, that's all going to change in the near future, after my VSG this coming Monday.
Blessings,
Mary

Hmm... the cooler weather hasn't seemed to slow me down....although it's only about 73 degrees right now....  so I'm still putting on about 5-10 miles per week in treadmill time and a lot of lifting for weights!

I am having a hard time in getting motivated to do crunches....  I'd rather lounge around in the mornings on the balcony watching the cruise ships come in and leave.....  I know..I know...LAZY...  I'm a bad tommy...

Of course, I'm always a bad tommy... so no difference...lol...

Why on earth would you use a treadmill when you have the entire ocean right there?  I'd be out with those little fishies every day.

Weird me, likes to exercise when it's cold more than when it's hot! That is mainly because exercise warms me up - a little tough to get out there in the cold, but once I am out there I can deal with it.

I like it better when it's like 50 degrees, but you are right, in many ways it's more comfie than the heat.
