has anyone had trouble taking liquid anti-acid?
I have a lap band, and don't know if your supposed
to take it or not.

I really don't have any expertise in the field of antacid....  however, if you're taking liquid, it won't last nearly as long as some of the current over the counter stuff like prevacid, prilosec, pepcid ac, (just to name a couple)....  Just a bit of fyi in case you don't see much relief from the liquid stuff.  Most of the ones I mentioned have a time release method that may help deep after you've eaten that special hot stuff you just gotta have...hehe

Acid reflux, expecially at night, can be a sign of a too tight band.  If you are having it often, please check with your doctor.

I have a band and have had acid reflux since way before surgery. I take 20mg of prilosec twice a day and it takes care of it.

Thanks Shelly, does the prilosec help with the gas?  Or do you have that problem?

I only had gas problems for the first week or so after surgery. It didn't really bother me much. I don't seem to have much trouble with gas now. Alot of people use the gas x strips,  I have never tried them, but they seemed to help alot of post ops.

I can't miss a day taking the prilosec or I am miserable with acid reflux.
