The psych eval that it. I had it today at 11:00 am. that was my last pre-op appointment. I visited with Dr. cashman for about half an hour and then she gave me a personality test. It wasn't the MMPI. It was a different one. It wasn't bad at all. she herself has had the RNY and is 6 years out. She told me about her ups and downs and we talked about my expectations. She told me she thought I was being realistic. So after I got home I called the surgeon's office to tell them I am all done. I am waiting on Crystal to call me back.

Em,

Just a quick note...  she did mention to you that nearly EVERY person has at least one moment of "WTHDIDTM" (what the hell did i do to myself)???  You will think you're nuts but just come to the realization that this is what you wanted....hehe...

I will also tell you that if you fall asleep while peeing on the toilet....don't feel like somethings wrong with you....  I had the hardest time peeing just after my surgery, so i chose to sit down and pee at my own leisure...and well....ummm....I slept a lot....   I've never had that happen at any other time in my life....

So there will be moments that the "crazy" doc won't be able to tell you about since they haven't hit you yet....but don't worry....   you WILL have your moments...and we'll all be there to laugh---er support you (like they laughed...ahem,  "supported",  me.....

Luckily you're hanging out with one of the greatest forums of people you could ask for....  they were my one lifeline when I needed them the most and without them and their guidance, I wouldn't have the same outlook or knowledge that I have today.  I know I'm a lucky guy for having had them by my side....

Love, peace, and chicken grease.....

T,
I ........ummm......fall asleep on the toilet now. LOL. So, I get to look forward to more sleepy potty time......oh boy....
All of you all on this board are great. What she did tell me is that is one of the lucky people who doesn't dump. Well, I am diabetic and I occassionally dump now.......yuck. It sucks and I don't want it to happen.
Thanks for the support and I am looking forward to getting to share all my experiences with you all.

Congrats Em on getting done with the psych evaluation. WOOOHOOOO...now ur cooking....it wont be long before u have a surgery date. U have a good surgeon also...Dr Katsis is awesome, I worked on the general surgery floor at St Francis, and that is where his patients go after having any kind of abdominal surgery. He actually was gonna be my first surgeon, but I changed at the last minute. U will be on the bench in no time

Amy, your post title scared me!  I thought something was wrong!!!  I am so happy things are moving along for you!
I also finished all of my pre-op testing and I am waiting for my surgeon's office to submit to insurance.  I thought they would submit it on Monday.  GRRRR... but they haven't.  I don't want to keep bothering them so I called my insurance to see if anything has been turned in.  NO it hasn't!  I'm getting impatient!  I'm getting a little OCD on them and I might go postal if they don't hurry and submit to insurance!  OK, just kidding about the going postal.  I'm not that bad!  Just anxious.  This has been a long 6 months!
Be sure and post when you get your date!  I'm so happy for you!
Hugs
Kim
