          The Bariactric Patient's Friend

I will be there for you when you weigh in and are mad at yourself for getting this far away.
I will be there for you as you begin your emotional journey of weight loss surgery
I will be there for you when you panic and want to go thru McDonalds or out to eat Mexican food, just one more time before your surgery.
I will be there for you when you try to escape the door of the hospital on surgery day
I will be there to tell you to sip and walk, sip and walk, SIP and WALK
I will be there to laugh at all the dumb things you say while on pain drugs.
I will be there for you and will clean out everything in your fridge and cabinets before you go home if needed.
I will be there when you call the day after surgery and think you are in a stall because you haven't lost any weight....
I will be there to send Ruth to tell you "It's not a stall. It's a body adjustment".
I will be there to share in your first WOW moment and weight loss.
I will be there during the Holidays when you think you are going to gain all your weight back at one setting because of the candy, chips, dips and Holiday meals.
I will be there to kick your butt when you need it, so you don't have to kick your own when you goof up.
I will be there when you try on your first pair of 4 sizes smaller jeans and they fit!!
I will be there to share a meal with you and we both can still have leftovers!
I will be there for each mark reached along your path. I will share in your excitement of finally reaching your goal
I will be there when you discover the wonderful new you once again.
I will be there  when you discover, who I have known you to be this whole time.....My wonderful friend!

That's beautiful, Sherry. Did you write it? I'm going to print it out. I want to be a friend like that. :)

That was beautiful.  I actually choked up reading it.  It is so true though that everyone is here as our friend and to help us when we fall and encourage us when the road is rough.  You are an amazing person and I will definitely keep this around to read when times get rough.
