Several WOW's for me this week
I left for Kansas City Monday morning and just got home this evening. I took my work laptop with me but it is new and not set up correctly so I could not access the internet from the hotel room and did not have time to call IT. I have a lot of catch up reading to do!
So, my wow's -- (1) one of the nurses who used to work for me moved out of state 4 years ago and works for the company in Phoenix. She was at the meeting with me and almost did not recognize me -- and told me I looked 10 years younger. (2) Tuesday evening I was talking with 2 women from other branches and one asked me what my medical alert bracelet was for. When I told her the other one said, "I knew it." She said she was watching me eat lunch and told the other woman I was a bariatric patient. She is 6 years out RNY (but has gained back a lot of her weight) She did give me a protein bar to try -- and it was really good! It was a Power Crunch triple chocolate wafer bar - the protein is micro-peptides so it can be counted double of what is on the label. You can buy them at GNC. (3) I met up with a friend who lives in the Kansas City area who has not seen me since right before I decided to have surgery. I love the sound of, "wow you look great!" (4) On the way home I was going through airport security. The woman checking my ID remarked on the obvious weight loss. and (5) not only does the airplane seat belt fit, but I can tighten it now!
