ONE YEAR AGO TONIGHT
One year ago tonight I was packing a overnight bag trying to decide should I keep answering my phone or just ignore it.
One year ago tonight I was thinking about what timeI was going to get up in the morning and if the surgicial soap would stain my wash cloth...
One year ago tonight I got on my knees and prayed to God that it would be his will that I survived WLS.
One year ago tonight I wrote out letters to all my family and friends saying how much I loved them and If I did not survive that they should be happy for me for I took charge of my life to be healthier...
Just one year ago tomorrow I changed my life by being put to sleep and having RNY.
What a year this has been I lost over 242 pounds, had six surgeries, went from a size 32/34 to 18/20, I am able to walk five miles at a time, I even have gone back to riding a bike.
I am not recognized by folks that have known me for years..
And the best part to me is my health I am not taking any blood pressure meds, or diabetic crap and my cpap was donated to a Vet who could not afford one..I no longer wear a seat belt exentsion, not do I have to have mu car seat as far back as it will go,or worry about not fitting into booths. Kids do not look and point at the fat woman...

Although I've never met you, you're one of my favorite people.....not just because you've been one of my staunch supporters, but because you make me laugh.....you inspire me with your quick tongue and your mind. I've never known how big/small you are, I've only known that you're a hella-cool person that I considered to be my friend.
I think your personality lends itself to the strong woman who has been trying, (and succeeding), to get out and show everyone who you really are. I love the person that I've come to know, so I can only imagine that if you have a new outlook and introspective about yourself, that you are letting that inner woman out to play and be adventurous. You're someone that I admire and dig. So along the "one year ago" battle you've picked up a few admirers who simply like you for showing us the personality behind the screename. I can only look forward to continuing to be an even stronger friend to you in the future. I'm so thrilled that you're making such HUGE strides to keep reaching for that end goal!

Pattye, thank you so much for your post. Your hear has been both awesome and I'm sure very trying at times. Just look at how far you've come. I cried also as I read this. I so know from where you came. We all know and understand. That is why my OH family means so much to me. We can share with each other and know that our folks understand. What a ride you've had and just think....soon you will also have a "flat tummy". That's so awesome!!! Welcome to the "rest" of the story. A wonderful new life for you!!! Thank you again for sharing with us.
