Thank You

 All,
I think sometimes the best advice comes when you don't ask for it.  I like to read everything and on the OK board.  I relate so much to Mrs P e-mail that I cried.  I re-cried when I read all your advice.  Tomorrow, I will call Brandi/Tina and make my appointment dates.  I will go to the appointments.  I will do my best to attend Thursdays support group (my niece has a game that my brother will go to so I may have to stay home).  Anyway, thanks very much for the much needed advice.  donna

I do have a funny (it's one of those you have to laugh or you'll cry).  My mom got confused about the change back from Daylight Savings.  Rather than call a friend or family member, she called the Police dept.  The good thing about this is that she used the non-emergency line and she called the OKC police rather than the MWC police (where she lives).  She called the OKC police because she didn't want to bother the MWC police.

She's also redoing her will to divide her property amongst her 5 children.  When I reminded her she had 6 kids, she named all my brothers (and not me).  I think with 6 children, it's hard to remember everyone unless you write the list down.  Oh, well.

Well I am good at giving advice...especially when asked...
Omg your Mom reminded me of mine. If she got mad and started calling out our names for some reson she would forget mine and would say Baby come here..I actually thought my first name was baby...
being healthy has its rewards....take the challenge and just do it

I'm glad you are going to get back on track!  Thats all it takes is a little good will to do what you have to do to turn things around!  You have lots of suport here and we are happy to be here for you!

If I had 6 kids I might be just like your mom.  She deserves to do anything she wants and call the President if she needs to  know the time! LOL! Only we don't know who thats gonna be until later!!!!  LOL!  Its too early for jokes!  ON a serious note.  I know how hard it it taking care of an elderly parent!  I've been right there with you, only mine was my wonderful Grandmother.  It isn't funny, but like you said if you don't laugh you will cry!
Hugs and more Hugs to you!!!
Kim

I know your pain, I really do.  For me, it helps to see some of those actions as "the disease, not the person".  Dementia robs us of our elder's minds before it takes their bodies.

Donna,

Your determination will help you to restart this path to your dream. I am proud of you for
taking the steps to get back on track.

It is so funny what your mom did...My mom had not changed her clock as of yesterday.  She also had 6 kids...Some how no matter what we girls do for her...The boys get all the praise. I'm glad I got my inheritance early or I may have been left out. I have to laugh!  It has become the family joke how the boys are always put up high.
I always said each child took a 1/4 of my brain leaving me with nothing. I don't know what happens if you have 6!

Donna, You will do great! Hang in there no matter what!

TELL YOUR MOM THAT SHE IS NOT ALONE IN CALLING THE POLICE. HERE IN MCALESTER PEOPLE CALL THE POLICE FOR ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING. WE ARE A ONE-STOP SHOP IT SEEMS LIKE SOMETIMES. BUT I WOULD RATHER ANSWER THE CALL ABOUT WHAT TIME IT IS THAN AN EMERGENCY!!
