Okay here it goes....
I have blown any sort of weight loss I had this past month. DH is now sick again and I have once again turned to food. So the truth of the matter is, there is no way in heck I will get a surgery date for November. I am embarrassed to go to my meeting on Wednesday. I have to meet with Chris and Somer and have a diet class. Should I still go? Even though I have gained back any and all weight I have lost?
Any thoughts suggestions? Please don't criticize as I already have a lot on my plate right now.
Thanks,
Sheila

Sheila I am gonna be a rude ass *****Who gives you the right to be down on your self just cause you slipped up and went back to an old habit of dealing with stress??? THere is not a single person on this forum that has not went back into an old habit when stressed...SO instead of being down on yourself and NOT going to a class dust your pants off throw away the tissues you have cried on and go.
Why be embarrased is there a weight loss police that will point you out and say look at her she screwed up????Sorry dear you have not screwed up as Edison would say you have found a 100 ways that stess can take away your goal now find 100 ways to deal with stress without it being food.
Sweetie dont let this slip up turn you away from your goal...if you need someone to talk to I will be glad to give you my number...
Pat yourself on the back cause you are realizing that your way of dealing with stress is not helpful...
Hugs to ya sweetie..go to your meeting with your head held high knowing that this time next year you will be the thinner you.

Sheila,
I think we've all had those moments......so tada.... you're a human! There you go...when I stress out....i look at the cheetoes....but I know they'd make me sick...but I was thinkin' about them anyway....hehe....
So no stress...you've got time to lose what you need...go back to being simple....no carbs.... no fired stuff unless it's buffalo wings...(they have no carbs. it's amazing but true).... I'm willing to help with whatever I can... in fact...try this... go to this website (they aren't selling anything)...and start planning your meals and they can give you choices for each meal then get up to 2 solid months worth of grocery lists and meal plans for you and the family and if you have more questions....go here for it----->
http://www.atkins.com/Program/FourPhases/WhatIsInduction/Two WeekMealPlan.aspx that one starts you at your 2 week plan, then you move up when you've completed it....PLENTY of time to lose about 30 lbs in a month...
then I'll be there for you for support... I'm only an email away...everything else is up to you... I'm no pushover with the low carb thing though....commit to yourself and the path you've chosen and you'll be fine...

Sheila...you haven't "blown" anything. My fist return visit to the Nutritionist I showed a gain of 10 pounds. I had to have my last supper and I was quite surprised tht it cost me that much. Put that behind you and just do the very best you can. Please, please don't stay away...we're here for you and so are the girls and staff at WeightWise.
You are getting great advice. We have all been there. Go to the meeting! Talk to them and be honest about what you are going through, then get yourself back on track. Even if you have to reschedule your date, you will still have a date to work towards.
I am so sorry you are going through all of this.

Hi, Sheila.
I'm so sorry that your DH is ill. I will continue to pray for him. Sheila, I've been an emotional eater for many years, and even though I've made marvelous progress in that area, it's often my first thought. I don't know if that will ever change, WLS or no WLS. You are not alone.
Here I am, 2 weeks away from surgery, and I keep going up and down a lb. or two above goal weight. It's crazy. While it doesn't seem to be from what I'm eating but fluid-retention issues (which I fight all the time, even despite medication), if I weigh above goal weight 2 weeks from today, I've been told I'll be sent home. Yikes! So, I'm working like crazy to go below goal weight. It's a struggle. It's like my body is saying, "I've lost the 37 lbs.; now it's up to you."
Just like the other post replies, I urge you to keep your meeting. The diet class is a requirement, no matter when you have your surgery, so you might as well get it over with. Plus, the information given will be so helpful. The dietician can even give you some pointers, to help you with the issue of emotional eating. Maybe you can arrange to see the psychologist, too, for support.
There's a great book on emotional eating. I'm almost finished reading it. It's called Life Is Hard; Food Is Easy by Linda Spangle. I recommended it to another post-er yesterday, I think, but I don't remember which forum.
Hang in there, Sheila. You'll get your surgery, and when you do, it will be exactly the right time.
Blessings,
Mary

Hey Sheila,
First I will ask how your hubby is doing? Have they gotten results from his tests yet?
Now.....
Remember why you are having this surgery.....Because this type of thing happens to us all. Remember that you are going to have this surgery to help change this. Yes, you may have gained this weight back for now, but you know you can lose it again and you will. Maybe this happened to remind you that you do turn to food when you are stressed. I think maybe talking to Chris and going to the Diet Class will help teach you how to deal with it.
Do not be embarrassed at all. So the date may change now. That is always hard, but a date is still out there and it is yours! Your time will come. Maybe the time is just not right for you to do this. I found that to be true in my case. Hang in there though....focus on your future. None of us will kick your butt so don't kick your own.
You know, you might even call Chris and ask her what to do....If you should put it off a few weeks or come on in. She would be the best one to give you the advice you may need right now or if you would feel less embarrassed by giving it a couple weeks to make some changes, then do it. I know you aren't going to give up on this dream. I know you can do what you have done before. I also know you are a strong woman who is just going through a very rough time right now. I am so sorry for that.
I am really glad you shared all this with us. I know that is also not easy. We care about you and what you are going through...Please let us know what you decide...either way, we are here for you.
We are praying for you and your family.
Sher
