well I know I should be jumping up and down with the weight I have lost and believe me I am very proud of myself so far but for the past 6 weeks I have not lost but 3 pounds. I don't know how to up my protein, I am running out of ideas. I went to the recipe site and got some very good recipes but I need some quick and easy proteins for myself while I am at work. Does anyone keep up with the total protein count per day? I am getting burnt out on cheese and lunch meat, eggs so please if you have any ideas please send them my way.

Hi, Christy.
I'm sorry your weight loss has slowed down, but I'm sure your body will adjust and you'll begin losing again.
As far as the protein goes, here's a link to a pretty good list of high-protein foods.  http://stanford.wellsphere.com/healthy-eating-article/list-o f-high-protein-foods/7248
I wish they'd been more specific on the different types of fish, however. For example, shrimp is great protein...something like 28 g. for one serving. Hope this helps.
Also, are you getting in your water/liquids, like you should? How about exercise? Up both, along with the protein, and I bet your body will respond.
Hang in there.
Blessings,
Mary

I think you forget how pretty you really are....

now for the fun stuff....

Are you working out?
Are you letting "little" carbs into your diet?
Are you weighing daily?
Do you keep a piece of paper taped to the wall above the scale of your last weight?
You keep a log of food?
Ketosis strips....you using them?

Lots and lots of ideas for you....so many it hurts my head to think of them....I have ways to motivate you again...oh yes...I have ways...

Beef jerky makes an easy, high protein snack that is easy to carry with you.  Make sure you check the carbs before you buy.  The teryiaki flavors can be full of sugars.  You might also get some Pure Protein bars.  They have 20 grams of protein.  Unfortunately they also have about 200 calories.  I use them as a meal replacement and not a snack unless you eat only 1/2.

I keep a rough count of my protein grams in my head but don't write then down unless I am worried I am too low.

You are doing great!  The weight loss road is never smooth and even.  Your body has to catch it's breath now and again.  Keep following the program and the weight will come off.  Change up things- increase or decrease your calories, add a few carbs (healthy ones, please) and then back off again, increase your liquids, change what you are eating (most of us get in a rut and eat the same things over and over.)  See if you can confuse your body and trick it into losing again.  Good luck!
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

Do you have a fridge?  I like those little breakstone cottage cheese singles.  Fage yogurt is high in protein and you can flavor it with SF syrups or fruit.  It's also great mixed with salsa-you CAN use it as a dip, but I frankly just eat it that way with a spoon because the chips are a waste of belly real estate.

If you like smoked oysters, look at the calorie count/protein count on a can of those babies and see if it's something you can live with.  I like those for a "fancy" canned meal.....LOL.  If you can eat it with a toothpick, it's fancy.  If you can do sardines or kipper snacks, they are pretty good too (but if it's not your thing, don't even try).

Aren't oysters a aphrodisiac or am I thinking of something else?  My brother eats them if his spouse is feeling amorous and he isn't "Johnny on the spot", I think.  Oh, well,

What about string cheese? Would that be okay?  I eat that when my blood sugar gets low and I feel woozy.

I've heard oysters are an aphrodisiac-I love them!  Smoked, raw, in stew.......any old way will do.  I don't know if string cheese is an aphrodisiac or not, but whatever floats your boat.

Sheila, you have a lot going on in your life with your wedding and everything coming up.  I'm sure a lot of stress as well.  Another good source of protein is the one Amy Debtfree uses.  It is the protein hot chocolate.  She loves it and it's full of protein.
