Another Small Thing to Wow About

PoliceKat mentioned the wow in being able to use a normal size stall in the bathroom and I agree it is awesome.  It's the little things indeed that happen every day that wow us.  I was able to go to the OKC Thunder opening basketball game on Wednesday and totally enjoyed myself.  The tickets that were given to us were about 8 rows from the top of the Ford Center.....way, way up high in the crows nest.  In the past I would never have gone to that knowing I would have that climb, the seats there are made for narrow buts and after I sat down I didn't even spill over into the man's seat next to me.  I would never to go a stadium or theatre unless I could sit on the isle next to hubby so I wouldn't crowd any strangers.  Another thing I was able to walk down the stairs there one foot at a time and didn't have to step down and put the other foot on the same step holding on.  It was awesome.  I wasn't out of breath when I reached the top either.   We also parked in the garage next to the ball park and WALKED to the Ford Center......  AWESOME.  I guess kind of like "normal" folk!!!

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

It's exactly this kind of WOW moment that makes all the hard parts worth enduring.  This is what it's all about!  I'm so hapy for you and glad that you went.  It helps to have old HappyCat drag you around the park, eh?  Ha!

You are such an inspiration.  I'm so, so happy for you and happy to have met you!

Yes, it does help.  I probably would not have done the park walking if she hadn't ask me personally to  join them.  Thanks HAPPYKAT....  By the way... Go POKES.  My boss just game me tickets to the OSU game for tomorrow (sweet).  They are tickets for the suites....  Are you going?

Debbie, that is a great moment indeed!!  Weight is such a prison in itself!
My sister asked me if it was possible she is being treated differently by people because of her weight.....She has just now realized she is as heavy as she is and it is really quickly becoming a heart breaking experience. She works at the military dept and they have requirements that have to be met....She has always gotten excuses for the weight, she has now run out and must lose this. She has just realized that yes, people do view you differently where ever you go! That is why we do fear going out in public....or at least that is why I do!
I am so proud of you Debbie for making it up those stairs! I don't think I could make it! My sister was up in that section the other night too and she told me how winded she was....I do hope she will follow me after my surgery to lose her weight. I do not think she will be able to do it on her own. We both have tried forever and gotten nowhere.....
I look forward to all my Wow moments soon!
Have a great weekend Debbie!

I am so very proud of you.  That is definately a huge WOW moment.  I still have trouble even stepping up on a curb, but I know that one day I will be able to do that.  This deals with a goal of mine (besides the tornado tour)!  I will start buying season tickets to the Fort Smith Symphony.  We acually have a very good one here. I can't sit in the seats now, but will next fall when they go on sale, or maybe I can even go after the first of the year.   One of my embarrasing moments was when my mom took me to see Phantom of the Opera several years ago in OKC.  I think it was at the Civic Center?    I told her I would not be able to sit in a regular seat, so she had them set up a folding chair along the row where they put the people in wheelchairs.  Michael

HOW WONDERFUL FOR YOU!! ALMOST EVERYDAY I REALIZE SOMETHING I CAN DO NOW THAT I COULDN'T DO BEFORE I HAD SURGERY. I CAN FOLD MYSELF UP IN MY RECLINER NOW INSTEAD OF FORCING MY BUTT INTO IT. I CAN BEND OVER AND TIE MY SHOES. I STILL LEAVE MY PANTS UNBUTTONED TO DO THIS BECAUSE IT IS A HABIT BUT I CAN TIE THEM WITH MY PANTS BUTTONED NOW. I USED TO DREAD GOING TO SPORTING EVENTS BECAUSE OF THE SEATING SITUATION. HAD TO PRACTICALLY FOLD AND TUCK MYSELF IN THOSE LITTLE BITTY SEATS AND THEN HOLD MY ARMS IN AS CLOSE TO MY BODY AS POSSIBLE SO I WOULDN'T BE LAYING ALL OVER THE PERSON NEXT TO ME. I AM SO HAPPY AND PROUD OF YOU!
