I WANT TO SAY TY TO EVERYONE FOR THE RESPONSES.  NOW I DO NOT SEE WHY I WAS SO AFRAID TO POST ON HERE.  I DID GET THE LIST OF FOODS FROM COWBOY UMMM  OK BEAR WITH ME, I CAN NOT REMEMBER NAMES YET.  ANYWAY, WHEN I GET SOME $ IN FRIDAY I WILL GO PICK UP SOME OF THE B VIT, VITS, AND EVERYTHING ELSE I NEED.  I REALLY CAN NOT AFFORD TO GO SEE A WLS BUT I WILL TRY TO GET INTO THE SLIDING SCALE CLINIC AND SEE IF I CAN GET SOME BLOODWORK DONE OR SOMTHING.
AS FOR THE EXCERSICE, THAT WILL BE THE HARDET AS MY BODY HURTS AGAIN.  BUT I WILL DO IT SLOWLY!  WHOEVER MENTIONED THE HORSES, YES I DO HAVE 2 HORSES BUT THEY ARE YOUNG AND NOT TRAINED OTHER THEN HALTER AND LEADING.  I WISH I COULD RIDE AND I AM USING THAT AS A MOTIVATION TOO AS AT THIS WEIGHT I PROLLY COULDNT RIDE THEM.  YOU ALL ARE GREAT!  I HAVE MOTIVATION.  I KNOW IT WILL GO AWAY SOETIMES BUT I AM GOING TO JUST JUMP ON HERE AND SPILL MY GUTS IF YOU ALL DO NOT MIND!  LOL
NOW, I REALLY APPRICIATE ALL THE INVITES TO THE MEETINGS BUT THAT IS A BIG STEP FOR ME.  IF YOU DO NOT MIND ON GIVING ME A RAINCHECK ON THAT I WOULD APPICIATE IT.  I AM SURE EVENUALLY I WILL BEGIN TO FEEL VERY COMFORTABLE JSUT CHATTING ON HERE AND THAT WILL MAKE IT EASIER TO TAKE THAT STEP.  BUT WHEN IT COMES TIME FOR ME TO DO IT, I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO HAVE SOMEONE THERE FOR ME.  ANYWAY, THANK YOU ALL AGAIN!!!!!

That is great that you feel comfortable about posting. It will get easier the more you do it.  Getting the vitamins and such is a step in the right directions. You can do it. I know you can.
As for a hurting body, I have chronic pain syndrom so I can relate. I bought a Leslie sansone walking video for older adults, although I  don't consider myself older. It is pretty easy to do. It is a mile walk in 30 minutes and if I can do it, anyone can. Just something to think about. Good luck on your fresh start.

I've got the walk off the pounds by Leslie, and I can do that except on very bad days.  (I have a really rotten ankle/leg, so almost anything I reccomend is going to be low impact cause that's all I can do).

I'm glad you are motivated.  Studies have show that people exercise longer when working with animals or doing something they like (that's why dogs are so good in rehab.).  If you have a round pen, lunge line those horses-it will be good for them and good for your balance too.

My upper body just sucks, and I am really trying to do tugging games and throwing games with the dogs, as well as walking them.  A bigger dog can be hooked on a bike with a walky dog (but get some help training your dog to do that-it's not that hard, but if you've never done it and aren't confident on a bike it can be a little intimidating.)   When you get a little more mobil-set up an agility course-that is my spring project-not a full blown one, just a few, lightweight obstacles.  And that four year old grandson makes a great upper arm work out-my friend's kids are finally outgrowing my ability to swing them around but while they were little I loved swinging them through the air.

If you have a pond with a high dam-climb that puppy a couple of times a day.  We used to call those "buttocks hills" when my parents had a country place.  The give of the dirt makes it really easy on the joints (but start out with one or two climbs because it will make you sore).

I must have missed your first post which is not uncommon for me..
If you ned someone to talk to vent or just yell at I am available.
As for the horses..I use to have a horse ranch and boarding barn in NC. Since I felt that I was to big to even try to ride I would saddle break a horse by putting a 25 bag of feed on their backs and let them handle that then gradly increase the weight till they truly did not mind the weight.

So with that tidbit come and post and just be comfy you are among friends

being healthy has its rewards....take the challenge and just do it

Girlfriend, you are NOT too big to ride a horse.  That is in your head!  (not in your butt!)

You have an open invitation to come to support group any time.  I STRONGLY urge you to do it.  I promise that you will feel comfortable, welcome and encouraged.

You also must promise to get vitamins on Friday.  Give up something else if you have to because this could be a major reason for all of your problems.

Hang in there and take it one day at a time.

You sound so much better already.  Friends and vitamins will turn your life around!  AND your animals!  LOL!

You have the right attitude now and thats everything!  ANYTIME you need friends we are all here!  I check in on the computer all day, I am home most weekdays!  I have too many little critters to get out of the house much.  Only my little critters are 2 legged toddlers with runny little noses!  LOL!

I'm looking forward to hearing about your progress so keep us posted!
Hugs to you!
Kim

I  broke my own horse starting out, as Patty said....First the blanket, then the saddle and then putting a 25lb bag of feed on his back. I was 15 at the time. Horses were my life and a part of it I deeply miss.  There is something about riding that soothes me! Even just walking my horse was  the most peaceful experience. My horse knew everything in the world about me and my friends. He listened when there was no one else around to hear my heart's stories.  Needless to say, I spent alot of time in the barn talking to him....We also had another horse that my dad rode and he rode him alot....My dad was 300lbs at that time. The horse was a forgiving animal who loved my dad and never judged him because of his weight. You see, you really aren't a size to a horse. The hardest part for my dad was getting on the horse and pulling his weight up onto him. He fixed that by leading him up to a fence....climbing up and hopping across. There is always a way to do what you want to do.....Don't let your dream of riding again fade away.

I understand the money issues you face. I sat in the Nurses office the other day at WW. trying to explain to her that I was having problems buying my insulin and had gone without for 2 weeks....trying to control my sugar by diet alone....She pretty much told me how dangerous it was and I know it full well. It is, however, a very real situation in my life right now. I had spent the day before looking for free clinics. This is the first time in my life, I have had to deal with all of this...It is embarassing and humiliating at the same time having to nearly bed for medical care or meds. I can not work with sugar readins in the 400's.  It is times like this I think...why in the world am I doing this expenxive surgery when I can't even afford my medicine....Well, it is to save my life and I am praying that the surgery will help to stop the devouring illness's that are destroying my finances and life!
I hope you continue in your efforts to get back to the lifestyle of the WLS patient.  I missed a few support meetings and dinners because I was afraid to step out of my comfort zone....I missed out. Those steps, once were taken, were the best part of my path to this surgery. I pray you won't hold out long...It is a good thing!!
One thing I would caution you about...as a diabetic, I found that doing the Atkins diet plan, which is what Cowboy's plan is, can  cause issues with your kidneys. I would just say pay attention to your body while doing i****ch for any back pain that could be related to your kidney's. It can happen to you very quickly.  I just had to adjust my diet differently because of that. It is not for everyone....My personal opinion of it, is that you should be under a doctor's care while on it or know your body well, which actually is the best advice for anyone to follow. I just found for me, and the medical issues I have, I can not follow it as strictly as many people can.
I wish you success in your journey and know that all the wonderful cheerleaders here, are a great source for encouragement and friendship.
