6 week appt.

One of the best parts of my appt is I got to meet Sherry (OkieChick).  My appt went good, but I am confused.  My initial seminar weight was 424, and yesterday was 341, but since they didn't have my weight recorded from the 2 week nutrition class, that would make it 41 lbs since August, a month prior to my surgery.  They also didn't have the weight of 379 per the hospital scales downstairs the morning of surgery.    Now the confusing part:  I weighed on a Thursday after my surgery when I got home per my scales, I was 373.  I weighted on my scales before I left for OKC yesterday morning and weighed 326, so that would make my weight loss since surgery 47 lbs per my scales.  What the heck do I go by.  Dr. Walton was pleased with my progress and told him this whole experience so far, including the surgery has been awesome.  His only slight concern was that I am still not able to eat any meat, like chicken off the bone.  It still has to be ground up in a food processor and add salsa or low sugar bar-b-q to it to make it moist.  If I eat it without grinding it, my chest starts to hurt, and I am really sick.  I finally ususally throw up, but it's not the food, it's only clear liquid.  I'm ok with ground up meat, and the regular soft stuff and liquids.  He wants me to make sure the other stays ok, because there might be a slight possibility of a stricture.  But, he wasn't real concerned at this time.  So, what weight should I put on my ticker?  Michael

Just my humble opinion, I would go with my home scales.  The reason is because you won't be weighing at weight wise regularly but you will be weighing at home.  So unless you are only going to update your ticker when you go to weight wise I would start going by the home scale number.  That is what I do anyway.

That's awesome Michael.  I do hope you get the eating part going soon though.  I'm sure you will in time.  We are all so different.  I've never had the problem of what scales to go by since mine are very very close to the ones at weight wise.  I bought some digital scales at Sams and they are very accurate.  I think it really doesn't matter as long as you are weighing on the same scales about the same time of day.  Way to use your new tool!!!  Yes, and we all love our Miss OkieChick!!!!

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

I would use your home scales.  You are going to weigh there much more regularly.  Congrats on the great loss!

Keep working on those solid foods.  Your poor tummy is still really mad at you, I guess.  I heard the nutritionists tell a guy that he had to retrain his pouch to accept food.  Yours is just still holding a grudge!
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

Hi, Michael.
I'd use my home scales. I'm replying mostly because I want to congratulate you on your awesome weight loss so far! Good job!
Blessings,

Sugar Congrats congrats and did I say congrats!!!
As for the weight you record on your ticker I would do this..and I am gonna be different then the rest...I would put down WW figure then my own you can always have two tickers..because the weight at WW is what the surgeon will go by...
As for the food issues I had the same problem and it eventually worked itself out...
being healthy has its rewards....take the challenge and just do it

Congratulations Michael Muffin!!!  I knew you would do well.

Doesn't really matter which scales you use - you'll get there by anyone's scales.  Use the one that makes you happy!  For me, that would be the one that shows the biggest loss!

So happy for you!  Sure wish I could've seen you while you were here but work has been crazy!
