I was like you...I finally gave up on the mixes and went  and got Low carb slim fast vanilla the chocolate is nasty.
I have had troubel for the last 4 months on doing the protein supplements. My nutritionist told me if I could handle the protein slams to do them. The protein that they are made from is collagen not the best protein but it makes me swallowing easier.
before that I would add protein to s/f pudding...and make like and ice cream out of it. My friend told me to try s/g f/f hot chocolate mix add it to vanilla protein supplement and that worked..I have also bought Unjury unflavored protein powder
being healthy has its rewards....take the challenge and just do it

I found the EAS lite in the ready to drink were OK.  They are kind of smallish (6oz) and easy to get down.  I don't know that I would say I like them but I tolerated them.  I also use some Isopure powder occasionally and it is OK.  You might try drinking them out of a mug with a lid so you can't smell them.  If  your doc allows them maybe use a straw.
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

Good tips-many of the powders will start to go "off" after a fairly short time-so try to mix up only what you'll think you need.  (I know medifast is one that turns icky after about an hour).

Another thing I've found is some of the ones with extra iron are icky to me-so you might look at the iron content.

Right now my "upset stomach" drink of choice is vanilla boost-but the protein count is not that great and Im not sure if there are too many carbs for you or not....yep, 41 grams, I'm thinking not a good choice for RNY.

EAS low carb ready mix was drinkable, and most times I can get down a slimfast-but there is something about the iron content and the iron can that gets me sideways sometimes.

Most of the weight builders pro drinks have lots of carbs/calories too-cause those guys are trying to put on weight/muscle.

I keep New Directions Powdered drinks-they are ok-and this may sound weird, but if I'm really nauseated some times I can eat the pudding when I can't drink the shake-so if you can have that texture, try that out too.

(I've had "morning sickness" all my life, so I've tried everything to get food down in the morning....LOL)

Glenda,

If you haven't tried the "Nectar" Brand, then you should give it a try.  You can by it from netrition.com and I get the caribean cooler....lots of people get the fuzzy navel, but it tastes sour to me.  you can mix it in either milk or water and you get 52 grams of protein with ZERO carbs!!!  NO GRITTY TASTE!!!!  Delicious...

I've got some Nectar too-I'd forgotten about it.  I used to mix it in with cottage cheese or yogurt when I got sick of vanilla and chocolate.

Edited to add:

OH CRAP=-that would be a good way to get some protein into some decaf iced tea...
