November 5, 2008  is the date that I am going back under the knife for my hernia and tummy tuck. And its also my one year anniversary for my RNY...
I had an appointment today to see Dr. Keith and Dr. Nydick to get my surgery date. I got a call from his nurse to tell me I did not have to come in today cause they went ahead and scheduled me.

I am not scared but just overcome with all kinds of emotions. last year at this time I was preparing for RNY now I am preparing for a surgery that will change the shape of my body. Will I like the new me?

I have decided for Christmas instead of sending cards and gifts..I am gonna send me home. I am not gonna tell any one n my family that I am coming....

How cool, to have your tummy tuck and hernia repair on the anniversary of your RNY. I love that you're going to surprise your family for Christmas. I did that one year many years ago, at Thanksgiving, and it was a lot of fun. Have a successful surgery and a quick recovery.
Blessings,
Mary

Does getting a tummy tuck mean the belly button goes away? I guess I don't know much about plastic surgery. Or is that "extra," to have a new one created?
Don't discount how different you will look to your family, as 7-8 months will have passed. They're going to be so excited for you.
I hope you'll post pictures.
Blessings,
Mary

LMAO I do own a camera...
As for the belly button if it considered cosmetic they can save it..mine is considered a medical procedure..by choice. I have no care one way or another about a belly button..mine has always been a deep one and i call it my lint trap so not having it wont be a big deal..
if it is considered costmetic more care is taken with the incision line and the stitches are more fine...For me I dont care about an incision I have one that goes from my bra line to right  abouve the button and some that cross over so another long one going across me will make me look like a road map. AND I DONT CARE! My self worth is based on what is inside of me not what is what out. I do not have vanity FOR I know I am gorgeous and no incision will change my opinion..lol
As I told my sister years ago folks who are vain are just wannabe me's.. I am gorgeous fat or thin flabby or tight and ya cnat touch this stuff..lmfao

Gee, Pattye. No belly button. Add that to your road map scars, and someone may take you for an alien and haul you to Area 54! ;)
I've been intrigued by the use of "LMAO." I never saw that until I began frequenting OH.com. It took me some time to figure that out (seriously). So now, I just wonder why anyone would want to laugh so hard that their booty goes away. Of course, if it's as big as mine...couldn't hurt.
