To answer your topic question: Yes, you are. ;)
As far as your work dilemma, if you can make the same money (or more) with decorating jobs, then go for it. I would think there's nothing more miserable than working at a job/career that doesn't make you want to get up in the morning and get there.
I'm sure you'll make the decision that's right for you.
Blessings,
Mary

UMMMM...Yes, you are Crazy! Now that question is answered on to another one...
I think you should do what makes you happy. It sounds like your round-the-clock job isn't for you anymore. If I could get a job decorating I would SOOOOO do that! That is so much fun also! I have redone my own home so many times. That is my Dream JOB! You do what you want if you can add income to your family and its sufficient enough to make a living...Go for it! You would work the hours that work for YOU not the other way around! If you need any help let me know! I would love to do that! Heck, start your own business, I'll run your Tulsa office! LOL!
Best of luck on your decision! You'll make the right one!

kim, i started decorating out of necessity..having a masters degree in crimnal justice really hampered me in the public sect.
As for doing as a dream job..lol I wouldnt recommend it. The stress sometimes made me want to scream! Doing it for yourself is a piece of cake compared to doing for folks who change their minds every five seconds. or when you go in the morning they love the design and by noon they have changed their minds or the shade is to light to dark even though you showed them this five times before you ever started..
then there are jobs that take you have to work for 4 weeks straight with no day off...

I'm sure you are wonderful at it even if it is stressful!
I don't know about it being piece of cake even if it is for myself! I always have the DARNDEST time picking a paint color! I can't for the life of me! I have even walked up to someone in the store and asked them to decide for me! How bad is that! LOL! Nice escort out of the store! J/K!
I wish you the best of luck with your decision! I know how stressful that can be!
Hugs!

LMAO! I was in Home Depot and this lady asked me the same question... I asked her several questions and reached over grab a color chip and said go with this...I gave her my number to let me know how it turned out. She called me and thats how I got started...I have decorated every room in her house at least 4 times...
Kim, decorting is one of those jobs that you are either feasting or famine. My thing now is decorating for the holidays. One client is asking me to make home made decorations for an ole fashion christmas. I start putting lights out November 3, 2008 and have to be finished by turkey day...
