Just introducing myself.
Hi all!
I'm usually floating around on the lap band side of things, but thought I'd come over and say hi to the neighbors.
Got my band 10.22.07.
Just moved from Eufaula to Idabel, so had to find a dr in Dallas to take over my after care (fills, etc) since nobody down here does them. Sounds far, but not any farther than I was driving since my dr. was in Norman.
Highest weight was 335, down to 255. Been stuck there for a while, but the stress of moving has made my band so tight, I need an unfill so I don't slip. Been keeping food pretty light until I can get in to dr in two weeks, so not getting enough calories or the right kind, even with protein shakes. Oh well, its a marathon, not a sprint, right??
Anyway, just wanted to give a shout out.

Welcome! Wow! 80 lbs. lost in a year is awesome! Congratulations on your progress. I hope everything stays fine with your band and that you like your new doctor.

You and I had surgery about the same time. I live in Durant, Oklahoma, which is in the southeast part of the state -- 90 miles north of Dallas. I had my surgery in Dallas and continue to go there for fills (Richardson, actually). My port flipped and I had it repaired three months after surgery, but as of yesterday I've lost 126# in a year (I weigh 196# and began at 322#).
So far, so good. I'm pleased with my band and how much healthier I am now. I exercise a lot, 6-7 days a week, eat correctly most of the time, and have more energy than I have in a long time.
I, too, haven't posted here before. I "lurk" on the Lap-Band forum most mornings, but I rarely post anymore. I will post today, with pictures, because it's been a year since my surgery. I always find "update" posts inspiring, so I'll add mine.
Good luck with the new surgeon and your new residence!

Hi there and welcome to the Okie board! I'm glad you're joining us and hope you make yourself right at home... You're doing great with your lap band! That's a great weight loss! I'm 4 years post op from RNY myself and am down 166 lbs after giving birth to 2 kids post-op.

It sounds like you have been busy! LOSING 80 lbs! Wow! Thats great!

Hello! It's definitely exciting and encouraging to see more people posting who are so successful with the band. I am 10 days out from my surgery and hope to be as successful with my band as you have been. Kim is correct, we are a crazy bunch in the Oklahoma forum!!
