That's great that you met someone so nice who can be a friend or even more.  Treasure your friends, I know I treasure all of you on OH!!  Best wishes with your date!! 

i think that is the best way to start out....as friends! they make the best husband/wife in the world. even if it doesn't work out romantically i do hope you can be friends. you can't have too many of those!! congratulations!!

Only a man could be on death's door one day and a first date the next....LOL.  Girls who drive trucks are cool, and vet techs are even cooler.....and bikes......hell, be nice to this one and don't rush things.

Ok, I missed out again.  What happened to the girl you posted about last time?  You even had a link to her picture.  She was cute.  Was she the loser?  Friendship first is a great way to go.  That is the way my wife (of 28 yrs) met and we would meet at IHOP, have coffee and talk for hours.  I have THE wierdest dating story.  After about 9 months of just getting together, talking, going to OKC together (because her mother lived in Midwest City), and just being friends, finally one day I realized I had fallen in love.  It took me over an hour to finally tell her, "I have fallen in love with my best friend."  She got scared because she thought I was dying, or moving to the other side of the country.  But, she said she loved me too, then I asked her to marry me.  It wasn't until after she said yes, that I kissed her for the first time.  I know, wierd, huh!  What a cornball I am.  So, just to let you know, you will get to know the person, I feel, better as just friends first.  Dessie and I talked about everything and weren't trying to "impress" each other as you might do while dating.  Most people give me the strangest looks when I relay that story, because how many couples do what we did?  I don't tell this story to very many people -- just very dear friends.  Michael

Yep, the mom in some of us says take your time....enjoy a friendship and take it from there.....Here I am a Sr. Citizen always thinking the same about my relationships....oh wait...What relationships??  Dan, you will find MZ.Right when the time is right!

Oh and Mary...in Oklahoma...the rivalry is unreal!!! You would not think that we were all from the same state!! I am a fan of both until they play each other....Some just hate the crimson and cream and some just hate the orange and black....Who knows the reasons! It just IS! Don't even try to figure it out! LOL
