Luck....we all have it...

That's right..some of us have bad luck, and some of us have good luck.... and for last night, I was amazed that I had it....  maybe karma was just on my side this time...

Well girls, someone must have been throwing some good luck our way....we got just a little bit of rain and some wind....most tropical storms are worse than what we got, so I count myself and my fellow islanders lucky.  Omar was very strong (125 mph winds), but luckily he was concentrated and narrow....Just like hurrican IKE, it could have been bad, but somehow at the last minute, he decided to spare the BVI and the USVI.  Thanks for your thoughts, prayers, voodoo charms, chants,  and good wishes...they came in handy.....

I say the word "luck" simply because, I just got in the hurricane shutters 2 weeks ago, and had not yet had the chance to order the wall fastners for them....noone expected a hurricane so late in the season and outta nowhere came this thing...  of course....I'm expecting to break my leg over the next week to make up for the good luck I've had last night...... I think I need to order those fastners....

I was thinking about you last night when I heard on the news that Omar was upgraded to a 3. I am sooooo glad that you didn't blow away! Which island are you on? St. Thomas?

Glad you dodged it.  I had a tornado skip up in the air and fly right over my head as I was running for the shelter-that was one of those things that could have gone really bad any other way......

I'm glad to hear you were spared the worst of the storm.  I was wondering about how you were doing.  Get those fasteners ordered.  The way it looks, there will probably be more hurricanes before the season ends.

Thomas when you was talking about the hurricanes all I can think about is Walter from the Jeff Dunham show going "HOLY CRAP!!!!  WE LLLLLLLLOOOOOOVVVEEE IIIIITTTTTT HEEERRRREEEEEEE!!!!"  If you have not seen this comedy you have to he is absolutely hillarious.
