2 week stall.
Lisa,
Hang in there.... this, too, will pass. I was stalled for 27 days at one point - and then GAINED a few before I started losing again.
Stick to the program and make sure you're getting in all your water. I think Denise (Happycat) might have some old research on converting to the DS if you get really frustrated... She and Kim (GlitterGal) and I were all stalled out at about the same time for a while back at the first of the summer, and I remember how frustrating it is...
Try to stay off your scales as much as you can and pay attention to things like your clothes and jewelry to see the changes that are happening while your scale is resting up for that next big downward leap. There is really no way that you can be eating enough at this point to NOT have a calorie deficit that will cause you to lose pounds. Sometimes it just takes a while for us to beat our bodies into submission.
Best of luck!
John

John is right! I just broke a 2 week stall and it is so frustrating! But now that my good humor has returned with a 1 pound loss, I can say that I truly believe this is your body fighting back and stuggling to maintain its weight. If you stay the course, you will start to lose again, I promise! Protein, water, protein, water, protein, water and excercise!!!
I really do think that your body changes while you stall. Either the shape, size or consistency. I am just now noticing the "jelly belly" effect that other people seem to get right away. Now I never had a baby so maybe that's why. But the old bread basket is beginning to dimple and while it's unattractive, I think it's a very good sign of loss. So, either sadly or happily, I'm thrilled!
You will break your stall just keep on doing all the right things!

Very normal. I did the same thing. In fact I think I may have stalled for 3 weeks. I didn't weigh for like 6 weeks because I knew that most everyone stalls and I didn't want it to freak me out. The weight really will come off once your body realizes it is not going to die from lack of food! LOL!

upper body lift 11/2011
LISA I only weigh whenever I go to see a doctor my theory is this for years I was a prisoner to my weight now that I am shedding it I do not want to be a prisoner to a scale.
Stalls is another term for the body saying..uh excuse me but I need to be updated to the new program...as soon as all information has been downloaded we will regain our ability to lose weight...Increase water and up the protein change your exercise routine. OR as a dear friend does she goes on a carb day..for one whole day she eas nothing but carbs...that shakes the body up and kicks the high gear of weight loss....
being healthy has its rewards....take the challenge and just do it

Oh booo hooo hooo all of you. (except for Rosie because you posted first and are sad)...but everyone else....ppfffffffffft. I was stalled for three months. That was also probably the longest time in my adult life I ever held the same weight-and I only weighed at the doctor's office. We all have a lot of weight to lose, and it just can't come off all at once-give your body a little time, you are going to have a lifetime at your new weight.
deb i did the same thing stalled 3 months ,,,,,,i was upset at first but now i just feel like you do and my brother told me ,,, you didnt get this way overnight and you arent going to lose it overnight ,,,,dont freak about the stalls , it will make you crazy and for me that leads to old behaviors ........i made sure i was getting my protein and poof stall was broken, if you arent getting enough your body goes into starvation mode and stores fat !!!! I am very bad about the scale but i have accepted the ups and downs of my weight and the fact that i will stall again and again , but like Deb said we have a lifetime of our new weight .....patience.........

Thanks all, even though my post was about a stall you all made me feel better to know that we all stall. I knew that in the beginning, but for some reason it just freaked me out for it to be 2 weeks now. I think we all or most of us go into this hoping and praying that when we wake up from anesthesia that all of the weight will be gone, but we don't live in a fairy tale do we. We have to face reality that our bodies will loose the weight on their own time, of course it goes more quickly since we had WLS. Even though the scale is at a stand still now, my clothes are getting bigger and my wedding rings will hardly stay on my finger, last week I actually wore them on my middle finger. Thanks guys for being there. Lisa
